Verifying your site on Google

The directions in Google "Verify a site" instruct just adding the verify code to the home page but I notice that the tutorial by SynthaSite recommends adding the code to each page.

Is this peculiar to Synthasite or is there some other reason?

The instructions in the Google tutorial assume that you are coding your site from scratch, whereas the SynthaSite tutorial has been written with SynthaSite specifically in mind.

Peter, actually this is something we should look into - it maybe that we have this particular instruction wrong or maybe Google has changed something since we wrote the tutorial. Try just adding the code to your homepage and see if that works. If it does we need to update our information.

Thanks for the info Monique,

I had already re-submitted the verify encoding on each page and it's accepted it. I did this before reading your response.
I am happy to re-submit it again but would you recommend that I wait until the site has been indexed ?

If everything is working correctly I don't suggest tampering with it.
