Can I change the way the navigation bar appears, for example, to list on my site in vertical position instead of horizontal? I am limited to the styles because of the need for my navigation bar to be vertical.

Hi, NikolW,

You could create subpages and create your own menu. See our tutorial here:

Also, you can find more about custom menus on this site:

If you have Yola Silver, you can have access to the Site CSS.

I hope this helps.

Hi NikolW,
I am experimenting with the vertical navigation layout on my in-progress carpentry website. The nice thing about vertical navigation is that links at the bottom of the column are only visible to the people interested enough to scroll down and see the content of the entire page. You know that the readers who click those lower hyper links are doing more than just a cursory glance of you site, so a strategic arrangement is possible.

I found a quick way to create a vertical navigation column for a small site - one with only a few pages. Larger sites will want to follow the Yola's .CSS tutorials for sure. Attached is a screen shot of how I'd arrange the vertical hyperlink column on a site with 4-5 pages:

1) start a new page,
2) use the column divider to create three columns,
3) drop a text box into the left most column (doing whatever you like with the other columns
4) follow the links that diane mentioned to insert hyperlinks into the leftmost column - or right column, depending on your design intent.
5) repeat for each page of the site
