Hello wbudd89

I've checked the Vibrant Canvas Style, and I was able to replace the background by a colour and image. It only shows up in the upper part of the Style behind the banner area, though. That's the way the Style is designed and cannot be changed.

If the problem persists on your side, can you please post your URL here for me to investigate in your account directly?

Please let me know the name of the site as well and about the name of the image file that you want to add as a background picture. Make sure it has been uploaded to your Yola File Manager, so that I can test it. Thanks.

Hi Stefan,

Great, thank you for getting back to me :) I have managed to change the image in the background before to black:
http://www.ebdenillustrations.co.uk/

however, I now just want to change this to a cream colour. I have a placed a cream colour in my file manager called 'background-cream'

thanks loads for this stefan.

I have also noticed that my main banner wont allow me to change the image in different pages. its changed them all to the same and I did not click apply to all.

many thanks
Wesley

Hi Wesley

I have checked your Site CSS (Sitebuilder > Style > Edit Custom CSS), and in the left box for the CSS overrides quite a lot of overrides have been made. Did you mean to edit your Site CSS? It looks like just the whole original Site CSS have been copied into the override box which is not the correct way to do it. It's only the parts to be overridden which should be typed into the left override box.

For testing I have temproraily unchecked the box next to "Disable Site CSS Overrides", and then I could see that this solved the problem of displaying the same background image on all pages (as CSS apply rules for the whole site).

What I'd suggest to you is:
  • If you didn't mean to change your Site CSS, just disable the CSS overrides as I described above. Then try again to add your banners.

  • If you want to change certain parts of your Site CSS, please make sure to just add the parts that need to be overridden to the left CSS override box.

By the way: If you want a plain colour as a background, you don't need add such a background as an image file. You can also change the background colour if you go Style > Edit Background > Change Background. Uncheck "Use a background image", and click on the little arrow next to "Background Fill". You will then be able to choose a colour.

If you have more questions on backgrounds or encounter new problems, please let us know, and we'll be happy to assist you further.

Hi Wesley

I went into your account and applied the black background to all of your pages. If you want to change the background for each page individually, you can just click on Style > Edit Background > Change Background, and then add a background colour or background image. For more information please see our tutorial Adding a background picture.
