Want to add Flickr sets to my gallery page via a link - how?

I have a flickr account that I wanted to link to my gallery page on my website - any clues how I do this? I have tried linking it in a frame but it keeps saying flickr doesn't support it.
I can't use the flickr gallery buttons available as they only allow 30 images at a time and I need to show the photos in sets of 100.

I simply want to add individual links to my sets on flickr to my website.

HELP :-)

Hello Amanda,

I would suggest that you use Visual Lightbox for you gallery as it allows you to add photosets from Flickr without you having to change each of their URL's.

Their website is here... http://visuallightbox.com/
An example of it in use is here... http://www.shamrockandrambler.co.uk/g...

And I have created a guide on how to create a Visual Lightbox gallery. It should be easy to follow. Here is the guide... http://www.mangopearmedia.com/resourc...

If you need any more help, please do not hesitate to reply,

Kind Regards,
Andi

Hi Andi,

I got all the way through to changing the CSS bit and then totally lost it and didn't have a clue what I was doing!

Such a shame because lightbox layout is perfect for what I want and would love it to work but it seems a really long and difficult route to be able to upload to YOLA.

Any other suggestions! Really finding it frustrating as its so disappointing now being able to upload easily and the fact that I am finding it so time consuming and hard :-(

Thanks

Amanda

Hello Amanda,

Are you using the Visual Lightbox gallery to use Flickr Photosets? Visual Lightbox has a specific section that allows you to use the photo's from a flickr photoset without you having to upload them to your file manager.

You will still have to upload the thumbnails to your file manager. If you are getting confused with the Source Code bit, take it step by step, first of all, you should open it in either Notepad or a HTML editor (if you have one).

You should then break it down into bitesize chunks, from the top. I recommend you do it like this:

1. Change the links to the CSS and JavaScript files. (These will need to be uploaded onto the internet somewhere. If you don't have Yola Silver, you will not be able to upload the JavaScript here. Instead, upload it to Google Docs or Google Sites (or buy Yola Silver)). This may seem a little confusing but, if you upload them to the file manager, then click on them you can see their file link. It should look like this: resources/gallery/engine/css/vlightbox.css - your file Manager should look something like this:

2. Now you should look through the image links. This is the time consuming bit. If you have used the Flickr option, half of your job should have been done for you! All you need to do is take one line at a time, change the links for the photo (unless they are correct for the Flickr set), and then change the link for the thumbnail. You may also which to change the descriptions here but, this is easier to do in Visual Lightbox.

3. Add this edited HTML into the Yola HTML Widget and put on your page. First time around it does take a little while! But trust me when you have finished it, you will understand coding a bit more and you will also feel a sence of achievement that you have created it!

If you need anymore assistance, please do let me know and I will be more than willing to help you! If you do require assistance, please let me know how far you have got with the process and I shall try and explain what exactly to do next!

Kind Regards,

Andi

Hi Andi,

Yes using visual light box flickr upload bit and yes have yola silver. I am not sure what I am changing the source code to and I am not sure what to change the CSS links too. I am following your guide and it is probably just my inexperience that is making this a bit challenging for me!!! :-S

I am going to give it another go now. I am wondering if this is going to take me forever though as I have over 200 photos as week I upload on to flickr!!

Andi/AlexisH thanks for your help with this.

If you add photo's through Flickr, you add them through Photosets or Photostrems. If you could post the Source Code on here, I could tell you your easiest option. Please start the code with <!--- and end it with --->.

Thanks,

Andi
