Hi Chene,

Are your other sites on the same account as your Silver?

If so they should have the branding removed. If not then this will require an email sent to support@yola.com and don't hold your breath.

I really understand the frustration and hope they pick up the pace on these issues. Do you want a Champ badge? You can have the one plastered on my avatar for free. I have been asking all day for this to be removed and zilch! I am really pissed off as well. Sorry to hijack your posting but thought that the sympathies were on the same line.

So what does that mean khun Monique? Does it mean that I should be humbly and subserviently grateful. I don't stay here for gratitude or acknowledgement or awards(?).

Please, please ask people before doing such things. Don't dump it.

Wow... I gotta jump in a say my 2 cents before I head off to sleep...

Gop, I completely get where you are coming from. I mean, each person is different and they may or may not enjoy having a pat on the back in public. I don't know why or what reason that you don't want such accolades but I respect your choice and truth be told for some time I wondered why both you and a few others were not given Champ status sooner. I think that the help that you have given others is awesome and so many people appreciate your input and tutelage. The answers, links and tips shared will no doubt last years into many generations of Yola users and fellow forum members and for that we are thankful.

Having been given the Champ status all those years ago I too was taken aback because such a stamp had never been given before and as those from Get Satisfaction said it was a pilot program at the time. I was dumbfounded to be in the first few dozen members spread across all the hundreds of thousands and then millions of GS users... I appreciated the gesture of thanks that Yola gave me and in turn the ability to help in ways that were before not obtainable for when those who I assisted saw my little Champ badge knew that what I shared was equally as trustworthy as the company reps and employees.

When others, both (non Yola) companies and GS members alike across the world looked to the great work being done in the Yola forums they saw the way it was done to foster a close family unit all helping each other to further themselves and better their websites. That unity allowed not only us to benefit but thousands and thousands of individual companies all looking to us (both Yola and her users in the forums) to learn how. We were in fact the litmus test to see if the Champion badges would even work in GS. We were and still are the reason that it always be...

I am not long for this world and I know that. Thus, a while back I tried to add as many useful threads as I could so that when that time does come I can in the least still be there to help others. With each disclosure of not so good news from my doctors I posted more and more tips and resources. Oddly enough it was those times of good health that I did slow and not post as often.

For me, knowing that even should I one day be gone the help that I imparted on those who needed assistance will far outlive me because when you teach, help and guide another those pupils will one day will become the teachers in your absence. Additionally, I thoroughly enjoy the satisfaction that I get in seeing my tips and resources implemented in thousands of sites worldwide. To get countless emails from around the world all saying that I helped make their sites better is to me reward beyond measure.

As to your inference that once a person gains the Champ status they become subservient and humble... For me, even with my Champ badge I still call it as I see it when I smell something funny. Fellow member or rep alike, I speak my mind and don't see a reason to be concerned that I will loose the Champ badge because there is nothing to loose. "Champion" is but a title to many whereas it should be a way of life to aspire to for a person can answer hundreds of questions and yet still never truly answer for the right reasons. It is those right reasons that should motivate and inspire a person to help those who do not already know. It is those right reasons that should offer some heartfelt satisfaction in knowing that you helped/gifted a person the ability to learn and do on their own what they never before knew that they could.

Spend time teaching yourself what you did not know and then teach others what you have learned... It is as simple as that... ;)

Being a Champ means that one learns not only the site builder and its intricacies but also a wide range of resources from around the web to become an expert in one and then in time many different fields. In the forums answer those questions that you know the answer to and try to be a generally positive contributing member. One doesn't need to be an expert in everything to answer a question expertly to a new or old fellow site builder.

In all these years I personally have countless thousands and thousands of hours spend either answering questions, finding resources or writing tutorials. Those days in the beginning that I would often put in 16 hours a day (I was bed ridden for most of it) simply answering all the unanswered questions was to me some of the best and most memorable as it allowed me to help my fellow site builder as well as allowed the Yola reps to take a breather and catch up on their other duties. In the beginning updates were an all in event and one could tell when an update was soon to appear when the reps were more than usually silent.

For me and simply put... It is amazingly fulfilling to know that you helped better the world a little bit one person at a time through the act of sharing your knowledge with another. I firmly believe in the "Pass it along" motto and I feel that you do to...

As I see it my friend and like I described above I feel that you answer questions for the right reasons. You are the reason that Yola needs more Champs so that when some of us leave there are those like you to stay and when you leave those who you helped are there to take your place.

I for one hope that one day you might reconsider the much deserved Champion status that you were given. You can both be yourself and still be a Champ... Speak your mind and still be a Champ... Help when and how often you want and still be a Champ... I think that you as a wonderful tutor to those that you help could do more good by having a simple addition to your avatar.

Well, I spoke my mind and should be off to bed now...

By the by... My time to leave might be just around the corner and Champ or not it is nice to see that you offer yourself and your knowledge so genuinely to others.

Thank you Ed. I think you misunderstood my intent in the post above. I asked many many hours ago for this to be removed and I received acknowledging emails I was really livid that nothing was being done so I struck out.

I have already been given the outline of Champ and what it means. I'm really glad that this has given you great pleasure and that you received a lot from your stamp as Champ. There is no doubt that you deserve it and your work is truly outstanding and a great legacy for such communities as this. I too like the philosophy of "Know One teach One" and work simply by this philosophy.

I'm nowhere near that and am not driven to those ends. There are other people more qualified than me for this "imprimatur" and I'm sure you have seen their good and creative work too. I truthfully don't know the Yola system well and can only pick up on experience I have had and most of the Yola set is unfamiliar to me. A lot of the experience is outside the set and simply drawn in and in many cases not at all. Just processing arrangement independent of the set.

Just jumping back to the issue of my response in the above thread it wasn't referring to the Champ status at all it was referring to the attitude that I should be responsive to the reaction of removing the annotation with the barb of the "we're very sorry stuff" Ed I received an email full of contradictions apologetics and manipulations. this was received just before I noticed the post. My angst continued and I do believe that people should be asked before these things just happen.

I can say that I do wish you well and peace and hope that you may continue as King of Yola. Long Live the King. Sleep well.

King Kong is more like it... I am at best a Prince and a pauper Prince at that... ;)

Seriously though...

I don't know the back story and as the original thread in deleted will never know. I just feel that you might in the least allow those individuals from Yola your ever open and at times forgiving ear. I personally know and have been friends with a good many of them for years and don't see them as the backhanded or manipulative in the least. Sure, I have been rubbed the wrong way by one of them and clearly will never enjoy the company of that less than pleasant person for a cup of tea but I am happy that I have not heard from that person in years (let go or moved on I hope). Lest I spill my tea accidentally on them... ;) Kidding of course...

Yes it is a business and yes they need to treat it as such but where they differ from countless other businesses is that they know that without us succeeding they don't succeed.

Monique for one, is a person who is and has always been driven to help. If it was not for her, this forum would not be in existence as she founded it, it is her baby and a perfect resource for helping others... She has a charm about her to bring together a group of like minded individuals who all have a desire to help as best they can and like her, be as equally diplomatic. Once you get to know them I think that you will find them to be personable, caring and a great judge of character. They must have seen in you something to which they wanted to help nurture and let grow. I hope that you will continue on your journey of helping others...

Hallelujah, I designed my previous websites free and pointed them free, before they launched the Silver Package, which you now require to get all the added "benefits??" as described. According to the Silver Package you get 25 sites.........
Also support@yola.com................what is that????? I have to wait hours to get a response and then it is so vague, what about the toll free numbers they boast about for our Silver Package members???? Right i need a smoke now.......lets see if we get any response..................

We consistently respond within 24 hours to our Yola Silver customers. Faster if at all possible. We feel that this is well within industry standard and completely reasonable given the number of customers that we support. If we were to do it any faster we would need to charge a great deal more, so we try to strike the right balance. We would love it if all our responses could be instant, but this simply is not realistic.

With regard to the Yola Logo: If you are Yola Silver it is removed from all the sites in your account. However, if you have sites that you published before you upgraded you will need to republish them in order for the logo to be removed.

With regard to phone support our hours of operation and phone numbers are published here: http://www.yola.com/tutorials/article...
