Hi Bethany

I'm sorry that you're experiencing frustration. I hope that we can find a workable solution for you.

The size of the content space really depends on the template being used. Some templates are made to be quite narrow in width, while others allow for more space.

There are a couple of ways in which you can create a "sidebar". You can change your layout to a 2-column left or 2-column right. Please look at the screenshot where you can find this option:

You can place your ads or text in the narrower column of the two-column layout. This will give you the sidebar.

Another option is to go to a 1 column layout, then drag the two-column widget from your "Content" on the right-hand side over. Again, place your ads or text in the one side of your two-column widget. This two-column widget can be easily manipulated by dragging the middle green line closer or further away from one side.

You can add the ads by dragging in the HTML widget box into one of the columns. You can add text by dragging in the text box widget.

I hope these suggestions give you some idea of what you can do. If we can further assist you, please let us know.

Hi Bethany

Littleus has given you some great advice.

I just want to add that you should not regard the space you see on either side of your webpage as "wasted". That space makes your website easier to read and ensures that it displays well on most screen resolutions.

Next time you are surfing the net, take a look at how many sites have white space on either side. There is a very important reason for this.

Having said that, you can experiment with the different style and layout options to see which one gives the best result for your site.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

HI Bethany, i also would like a little more space than the styles offer but Monique is 100% correct you need a bit of spce at the edge of the page to allow users to read the page easily. (look at this site for example)

Wider templates have been requested before - new styles are on the way and Yola always listen to their customers so expect something new really soon.

In the mean time - what style are you using? - you could try a different style for example cleanslate offers more page space than other styles do.

You can change your site style 'on the fly' but you will have to replace your banner images - it might be worth a try.
