We are Changing Our Name!

SynthaSite will soon be Yola

We’re excited to let you know our new name is going to be Yola. It’s easy to remember and pretty fun to say. It comes from the Hindi word “jhola,” which means hatch – and hatching big ideas is exactly what you do at Yola.

A new name for the same company

Our name, homepage and URL will be new, but everything else about SynthaSite stays the same. We’re still the same company with the same team. You’ll find all the sites you built and their web addresses are also staying the same. If you have questions about this change, please go to these FAQ’s. http://www.synthasite.com/rebranding-...

Here’s a homepage preview

The change is coming in a few short days, but here’s a sneak peek. After the site changes to Yola.com, you still log in just like you did at Synthasite.com. In the meantime, you may want to create a new bookmark for www.yola.com.

We hope to see you very soon at yola.com!

Hey I think that's a great idea and I know of so many others that look forward to a shorter and easier to remember URL.

I think that this change is going to benefit the NEW YOLA branded Synthasite with making it easier for all those millions of site builders yet to come... Additionally it answered many members concerns about such a long and difficult to remember name. Good job on addressing the concerns of us members...

I cannot wait to see where this goes...

P.S. Good job on addressing the F.A.Q. page to assure us that nothing has changed but the name... That is great to know because this can only make our experiences that much better...

Oh I am so excited also Monique! The name is great and very catchy, memorable! Just wondering if that E commerce solution will come out with YOLA.com or if it is still in the works. It all looks FANTASTIC!

So glad you guys can see where we are going with this.

We got a loud and clear message from our customers that you loved most things about SynthaSite except the name, because it was clumsy and difficult to spell. The last thing we wanted was our name getting in the way of all the great things about our service! So we did something about it!

I am sure most people will just love Yola (I know I do!) and for some it might take a little getting used to. But as everything else about Yola will be totally familiar I am sure everyone will soon feel right "at home".

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. If they are not addressed in the FAQ's we will do our best to address them here.

Glad you like the name and the new homepage! When we release the new websites your published sites will not go offline at all. Published sites going offline is never part of our plan. If it does happen it is due to an unexpected technical failure and we always work to correct this as fast as we can while continually putting additional measures in place to prevent it from happening in the first place!

i like it - why Yola? - did you find this unregistered or have you bought it from someone? - i would presume there are not a lot of 4 letter domains around. Bring it on getsatisfaction/yola!

Short domain names are a great advantage. We always tell our customers to "keep it short". We thought it was time we followed our own advice! Too many times have we answered desperate emails to support from people who could not find their websites, simply because they had misspelled "synthasite"! And who can blame them - it is a tricky word to spell.

Yola may mean:

* Yola language, an extinct language in County Wexford, Ireland.
* Yola (Album), an album by Eleanor McEvoy
* Yola, Nigeria, the capital of Adamawa State a state of Nigeria.
* A small wooden boat in the Dominican Republic used in fishing and, increasingly, illegal migration and narco-trafficking. See e.g., [1][dead link]
* Yowla, a folk dance native to the United Arab Emirates
* Yola, spanglish meaning hola (hello) and yo
* Yola, a female first name.
* Yola, a boat in the Grand Theft Auto series
* A slang combination of "Yo" and "Hola". "Hola" is the spanish language word meaning "Hello"

* NOW Yola = the BEST web site creator on the planet

Hi Paul. Please see: http://www.synthasite.com/rebranding-.... All subdomains will remain .synthasite.com. In the beginning you will only be able to publish to a SynthaSite subdomain or a custom domain name. We're working on the ability to publish to additional subdomains in the future. Once these options are introduced you will be able to make use of them if you wish, or keep your synthasite subdomain forever, if you prefer to do so.

How exciting! I do like the name "Yola" - not only is it easier to remember and spell, it's very catchy!

How soon do you think the option of switching over to a Yola subdomain will occur? I have yet to tell people about my site and would love to be able to tell people to go to my yola site!

I'm not happy about this. As a new subscriber that just bought www.senobiatorres.com via Synthasite, it's really unnerving to think I'm going to have to re-learn a new format when I haven't even gotten used to this one.

This could have been noted up front for people just signing up.

I may be wrong.. but I assume that the format will remain the same. The only thing that is really changing is the name and hopefully along with that some future upgrades.

Hi Senobia,

The format of the sitebuilder where you work on your site will stay the same and the domain name that you bought will still work.

The only thing that is changing is our name and the layout of our homepage.

I'm sorry you feel upset about this.
