Website hidden by YOLA?

My website does not open in IE anymore. I only see it online in Google Chrome. As a result the visits to my site have dropped to ZERO! This makes the site worthless and I'm losing all my existing customers.
What's wrong?

Hi Brian,

What version of IE are you using?

The breakdown of global users is about 60% IE (all vers 6 to 9) vs 40% for other browsers. This analysis varies a bit depending on the source.

Hi Brian,

I was able to view your website in Internet Explorer. I have attached a screenshot for your reference. Can you tell me more about what happens when you try to load your website, or post a screenshot?

Oh dear, I couldn't find the version I'm using. The name isn't given in Properties. It's a few years old and I had to get Google Chrome so I could continue accessing Yola.
But surely a website should be viewable even with an older version of IE?

Hi Brian,

IE older than and including vers 6 can't be used effectively with Yola and many other websites. The older versions are just so different from the later versions that MicroSoft has stopped supporting them completely and the specs of the newer versions are often incompatible with the way web-sites are built with the current vers of markup language

You may be able to tell by looking at the "About" tab on your IE

Hi Brian,

Can you confirm if the website you are seeing that message for is the same one I pictured in the screenshot above? If it's not, can you please share your site link?

Hi Laura,

This is the address for the website with above message: http://www.arepo.biz/

When I enter it in Google Chrome I can see it but not with IE.

I am using IE version 9.

Hi Brian,

The screenshot I posted above is http://www.arepo.biz/ in IE which suggests the problem is local to your system setup. To verify this yourself you can enter your website address in SauceLabs, a cool website that allows for cross browser compatibility testing.

In your browser, you may want to try removing any toolbars or add-ons that could be interfering with the display of your website. Also, are you running compatibility mode? You may want to try disabling that as well.
