Hi Helen.
I think the problem lies in your paragraph styling, and the use of font styling in HTML.
The lines you use in the last couple of paragraphs (style="...") are ok, but the first few use a now-illegal term. Change those paragraphs to the same syntax as the Latin one and it should be ok.
You could also use styling at the top of the page which would mean you only write the styling once.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I have an additional problem that I cannot open my site to edit it. When I go to the Yola site to edit it, the icon just whirls away for ages. I'm not sure how the font styling has affected this as I just used the fonts etc that are offered. Technologu is beyond me, I'm afraid!

You mentioned that when you open it, it has errors on the page. How did you open it to see this? If you can do this again, then delete the error lines you should be ok.
If you can't open it at all you may have to delete the site and start over.

One of the more experienced members (Gop, are you there?) may have a better solution, or Yola Support may be able to fix the errors without this, if you want to wait and see.

Sorry - I was unclear. When I put the site address in to the address bar, the site comes up - but with errors on the page. I cannot open it in Yola to edit it.

Hello Helen

I was able to access your website in your Yola Sitebuilder, using Firefox and Google Chrome (latest versions).
  1. Which browser, browser version, and operating system are you using?

  2. How did you add the text to your home page? Did you type it into the Text Widget and then formatted it, or did you copy/paste it from an external programme, such as MS Word?

Thanks for your reply.

I'm using Windows Internet Explorer and Windows Vista.

I can't remember how I added the text - I don't think I used cut and paste from Word as I read somewhere that it causes problems, but I wouldn't swear to it. When I try to load the website, I get the following message:
Webpage error details

User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/4.0; BTRS124342; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729)
Timestamp: Fri, 26 Oct 2012 14:27:49 UTC

Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917)
Line: 0
Char: 0
Code: 0
URI: http://www.lakelandlanguages.co.uk/

The last thing I added was the block of text on a red background on the page "La Jolie Ronde" - that section (ie the text on the red background) can be deleted as it is out of date after tomorrow. I just can't get in to the site to do it myself!!

Any ideas?

Helen

Hello Helen,

I am seeing quite a bit of copying and pasting from MS Word in your page source. Please try to follow these steps to clear up this issue.

If you're still having trouble, please let us know.

Thanks for the reply, Sanja. The problem is that I cannot access my webpages to sort out the problem. When I log in to Yola to try to edit my website, all I get is page loading and then nothing - it tries to load but can't. How do I get the text loaded so I can edit it following the steps you suggest? Sorry to be such a pain about this but technology is not my strong point (as you may have noticed!).
Thanks Helen

Hello Helen

I have checked your account and can confirm that some text must have been added by copy/paste from Word or something similar as Sanja said above.

I wonder why I can open your Yola Sitebuilder without problems, but you can't. Can you please try in a different browser for now, e.g. Google Chrome? These are the browsers and versions which Yola currently supports: Supported browsers.

If you still can't access your website, please let me know.

Hi Stefan

Thanks for your reply. I made a discovery last night - I can access my site from my laptop but not from my main computer - don't know why as I thought they were identical in terms of setup. I can now edit my site - yippee!! Thanks for all the help and suggestions - I shall strip out the word formatting so hopefully it'll be back to normal.

Thaks again to everyone for their help and suiggestions - very much appreciated.

Helen
