We're testing a new toolbox for new customers...

Right now Yola is running something called split AB testing. What this means is that we are testing the functionality of a new Widget Toolbox with a percentage of new customers to see how they respond to it and if it makes their site building easier and more intuitive. Our goal is to improve your site building experience, and this test is designed to help us do this. The reason it is a called an AB split test is that only a group of customers are getting the new toolbox, and the other customers will continue using the current toolbox.

Currently there are two Widget Toolboxes and you will see either one or the other.

Looking at the screen shots below; if you are using Toolbox A (the first toolbox picture), all of the support documentation, will match up with that toolbox.

If you are seeing Toolbox B (the second toolbox picture), than you have the new one!

Please let us know if you have any trouble figuring it out and we can assist you further. We also have further information on this link: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/....

Hi Alex

Thank you for your interest in the new toolbox. Right now we are testing a new sidebar/toolbox to see if people prefer it and find it easier to use. If the test shows that the new version is a significant improvement on the old one, we might consider changing it - we will let you know.

While the test is running, only a portion of newly registered users will see the new version. They will be assigned the current one or the new one on a random basis. Existing users will continue to see the current toolbox for the duration of the test, so that no one gets confused.

If we were to make this change it would be pretty significant, so we want to make sure we are changing for the better. We thought you guys would be interested to know how we are approaching this, so that is a change is implemented you will know that we have done our homework. Also, if you see some new people in the forum reporting that their sidebar looks "different" you will know what they are talking about and how to help them. Just direct them to this page: [content removed]

So the short answer is that, as you are an existing Yola user, you will not see the new toolbox right now, but if all goes well you might get to use it in future.

I love that Yola is always striving to improve itself, in minor and major ways. I look forward to hearing the results of this test as well.

I'm just curious... does the new look also apply to the blogging widgets?

Definitely! Just imagine it as another section like "Online Store" or "Advanced".
