Need Help with language!!

Hey Guys!!

When I try to create my website in spanish, I can ́t write words with accents (like "anásis", because the SSite shows me: "Análisis") and can't use the Spanish letter: Ñ

Write a spanish website with those errors is aberrant! Just cause laughing in spanish speakers people.

Can U solve this problem to make multi-language sites??

Hi Sebastian

Thank you for reporting this. We are committed to internationalisation of SynthaSite. Not only do we want you to be able to create a site in your own language, but we also want to translate SynthaSite into as many languages as we can.

We are supposed to have Unicode support, so this particular problem sounds like a bug. I understand how frustrating it must be not to use these characters.

I will report the problem and hopefully we can resolve it soon.

Best wishes
Monique

Thanks Monique

Fast reply as always!.

Yes, is frustating. Im trying to solve this problem but there's nothing I can do if SSite Unicode has a bug. It's 3:00 AM here and I feel defeated.

I work whith small farmers in Chile, Latin America, They can`t afford a paywebsite or domain, I'm doing a Ssites websites for each one, I hope his websites will be an importan commercial tool for his bussines.

I ́m an agronomist but not a programmer, so that's why Ssite for me is now the best free website: lets build your own Web site easily, offers good looking designs and you don't have banners (I think this is one of the more important differences between Ssite an his most significant competitors who put big banners with the company name, you guys have an elegant and small phrase at the end of my web, thanks!).

PD: Do you need to translate?... Mmm ....I can help you guys if you need a hand.

I hope you can solve it soon

ZANKS ! (using Z cause is a Spanish letter)

Well I have done the easy part - reported the problem. It is up to someone else to solve it. I am sorry you ended your late night/ early morning session feeling defeated. Hopefully things will look brighter soon.

I am delighted to hear that you are making websites for small farmers who cannot afford a website. We are passionate about getting people online. Especially small business owners!

Thanks for offering to help with translation! I will pass the message on!

Zank-you!

Hi Sebastian

I'm glad that you are enjoying the service, and hope that we can not only keep you happy but pleasantly surprise you as the service continues to improve!

Regarding internationalization (allowing the site to translate into many different languages), it is certainly something we aim to support well - although it is a very complicated and tricky issue!

Anyway, I am not sure why, but I did manage to get the words you listed above to work by simply cutting and pasting them into my site from above. Have a look at:
http://mytestsite2.synthasite.com/

The words seem to work in my browser (FireFox). It is a bit of a roundabout solution, but if you can write them into a text editor which supports the coding you require, and then cut and paste the text into the html editor on SynthaSite, I think this may resolve your problem in the interim untill such stage as we have resolved the bug above.

Sorry, but I've been trying to use ChristoAtSyntha's Trick, but it doesn't Work,
I've writing in MS Word and copy to SynthaSite Text Widget, but when I save the page and make a preview of the web, the spanish characters changes into bizarre characters.

By exemple, I try to write: "Misión" and looks like "MisiÃ3n"

I'm using Firefox.

Please HELP!

Hi Sebastian.

Sorry this doesn't appear to be working. Like I said before, internationalization is a rather complicated subject!

Unfortunately I do not have a copy of Word to test with, however, I seem unable to re-create this error :(. If you look at
this site:
does the encoding look correct in your browser?

If it does look ok; perhaps try using Google Documents to write your original copy (docs.google.com).

If not, it could be a browser setting which is causing the trouble. In FireFox, if you click Tools -> page info, under the general tab, can you tell me what your encoding is set to? It should read 'UTF-8'.

Thanks,
Christo

Mi browser is ok, I use in other english websites without problems. I take a look into Firefox Tools and shows me "UTF-8".

Well, Google Docs may be the solution.

Im gonna use Syntasite anyway 'cause i really like it, even if looks bad in Spanish! hahaha

Thaks

Hey,

I've had a similar issue with the accentuation is Spanish. When I write my name: "Diógenes" with the accent, I end up getting DióGenes. not sure why the capitalization kicks in. I tried writing it in notepad and pasting it in and have gotten different results, depending on where I paste into. I have not yet been able to spell my name correctly at the "About Me" widget in my blog page: http://cosmicsensorium.com/cosmic_sen....

is this a bug? any suggestions?

Thanks!
