I have two domain names for our ministry, and am looking at purchasing the same domains through you if possible. If so, how do I make that transfer without any loss of service to my website and to my email? How many email addresses can I create and what is the bandwidth and mailbox limits. And is it all inclusive for the 19.95? Thank you for your help!

Hi John,

Thank you for your request to transfer your domain to Yola. Unfortunately it is not currently possible to transfer your domain to Yola so that we are your domain registrar. We will be offering this option in the near future.

To publish your site to your own domain, you will need to edit the settings on your domain so that it points to Yola. You will be able to find information on these links:

* Publish to a domain you already own - http://www.yola.com/customer-support/...
* Using a Domain Name not purchased from Yola - http://www.yola.com/tutorials/publish...

If your domain registrar does not allow you to create or edit the A Records on your domain, you can use the services of ZoneEdit. There is more information available about ZoneEdit on this - http://www.yola.com/customer-support/...

You would also need to speak to your domain registrar with regards to setting up email.

You already own your domains....The $19.95 is to purchase a domain. Hosting is free and unlimited other than a 15 meg limit on a single file up load.
My domains are not on Yola either but I have them pointed to Yola for hosting and this is industry standard. For example if you wanted to host your sites at your office on your own server you would still have to buy a domain from a registrar and then point it to your own server where your site is hosted.

I don't use their mail but I think it is something they have worked out using Google apps to allow for branded email....Others here please chime in on this because I really don't have enough information to answer properly.

If you point your current domains to Yola I am not sure if it redirects current indexed pages to your new URLs .The staff here should be able to answer that for you also.....I am trying to break this down because I think Kershnee only covered part of what I think you are looking for.
The above are the things you need to know and see if they can be addressed to make a seamless transition possible.

As far as benefits. This forum and the help you will find here to do just about anything you want is immeasurable. There are many people willing to help from novices to experts in many fields of business, web tech and just plain good people for moral support when you want to pull your hair out during 2 AM web building sessions.

Ease of use is a great benefit of site builder.I have tried many and they do not come close IMO to ease of use.

You can come up with many different looks for your site.Uploading your own backgrounds and banners is very easy.

My favorite thing is the properties side bar. This allows us to add window title, meta description, and keywords as they all relate to our content....Yola automatically puts them right where they need to be for Search Engine Optimization.

Yola automatically creates sitemap xmls for us as we create our pages...Those are another essential part of SEO

The ability to create what our URLs are (more good stuff for SEO)
For example it helps in search if a few of your keywords are part of your URL.

If you want more specifics just ask and I am sure some one here will try to help you out.
