...make the text appear in the middle of the page, as opposed to the left hand side of the page? I'd be grateful if someone could tell me if this is possible, and if so, how could I do it.

Hello Dan,

I think you have a few of options on this issue, two of which maybe:

If you want to stay completely with HTML then you use the <!...center> tag. (ignore the !... Just have to do it to prevent GS from interpreting it as code)
You would drag an HTML place holder from the sidebar and type your content within the center tags. {I should add that it's really important to make sure that you don't bring in any hidden format tags that maybe carried over if you cut and paste from various word processing programs. In this case the advice is to cut from the document and place it into Notepad then cut it again from there. This eliminates all extraneous code.}

So your syntax for HTML addition is:
This text is centered.

Another option maybe to use the supplied text widget and simply type your text into the space provided. You drag a text widget from the sidebar and type your text where indicated. You will also notice a format menu open in the upper part of your edit page. One of the facilities offered is a centering alignment tool. Simply click it with your cursor on the text line and it will be.
