I need to get him out again soon for the next place to visit on my list! :)

Hey Lee

You've been hard at work I see!

I've been thinking about that tool tips/previews thing.... I have to admit, I'm a bit torn on this one!

With the "Matthew Corke" one - I think it looks cool that it pops up with this information.. but it feels a bit useless if I can't access the information. The way the box is designed, it leads me to believe that I could access his email or his rss feed but in reality, you cannot. Here's a thought, maybe it could be streamlined so that only his website address comes up?

I definitely like the tree pop-up. The only thing I would change is the color of the font (actually in both pop-ups). The light green is a bit difficult to read against the white background.

Your links are very fun with the bigger text and hover color. You must have been reading my mind cuz I was thinking of doing this same kind of idea for my website! =)

As always Lee, your site is a work of a pro. I am in awe of people like you who can create a site from nothing into one of a masterpiece!

i was thinking the same thing it would be super cool if you could use the pop up. Im not sure yet - i have been playing with a pop up half the size, it looks a bit better - i think the tree is a cool pop up which i will continue on through other pages. Thanks for your kind words and suggestions - Lee.

i do like everything to be tidy - sometimes i go OTT - if you can see your site is over croweded then declutter it. If you want any advice just ask - thanks Lee.

Hey Lee

The tree pop-up looks much better with the darker font. I think you made a great decision with that one.

I'm still dubious about the Matthew Corke one though. Could you make the link pop-up into a new window instead of in the same window? This way, if the person is not done looking over your site, they won't be taken away from it? It's a tough call. This is something I'm struggling with as well. Pop-up, new window or same window?

@littleus - i think the link opening in site is the right decision because its an internal page - as a rule if it goes out of my hexham.info domain i will link it to open in a new window/tab. The font sure is easier to read thanks for noticing that.

@alex pop up is best your right but i can not find a script that does not get pop up blocked and which you can actually interact with - i'll keep searching.

thanks rizan, the color change is actually just a link to a page which has a different colour - i used 'save page as' to copy the original page and then just ran through it changing the color properties.
There is actually a 'real' way to do it which im learning now - it uses javascript to actually show/remove differnet colours on the same page (like ebays new 'my ebay' pages) so when i learn that i will add it to my site, but in the meantime this method works pretty good -- thanks Lee.
