Hi lea,

i have looked at your site and have enjoyed what I have seen. Well done and congratulations.

I'll preface all my statements with that this is only my opinion and others will have varied ideas. The bottom line is that it is truly your creation and you are certainly much better feeling comfortable with your work rather than trying to follow another's direction on something that doesn't feel natural to you.

One point that I would like to bring forward is your selection of font colour. I personally prefer the muted blacks or greys that you have chosen. It certainly cuts down on the glary contrast of black on brilliant white. The thing here is that if you take it down too low you may exclude your target market from accessibility to your site. I would guess that a significant proportion of the buying market would be those with ageing eyes. These people have a bit of a problem differentiating lower greys from a white background. I think that your third page is just a bit too light and would be one of these types of problem pages.

Your home page is packed with really good information. The research shows that most will not even read it and possibly be overwhelmed or simply dismiss it. If your home page is the landing page for entry ( A whole new area of discussion) then I would focus on cutting this down. People scan. They scan extremely superficially at least until they see something interesting. If there's a lot to it they will simply avoid it or miss it. The first four words are vital. The next area is the LHS column and the first two words in each line are the words that are seen. Images are fantastic. Surfers don't read, they jump in and then out.

Catch them. That's the objective. Holding them is something again. Once your readers get beyond the third page and if they're scanning the whole website you will most likely hold their attention. I found these to be wham and bam pages. Great design.

I really wish you great luck with an obvious passion and commitment to your business and web-design. We all have a deep respect for these two things.

Please keep us up to date and if you have any questions or suggestions please raise them here. We really are interested.

Hi lea,

I found your site to be quite clear and professional.
I did find that your logo and main heading only showed
the top of it.
But above all it seemed to be very well presented.
Could you have a look at my site and tell me what
you think on the 'healthy recipes and food' page in
the comment box at the bottom of the page?

@ lea - did you catch my reply on the lets visit sites thread? The main thing i see is the last tab in your nav looks out of place on a line by itself. Peters left you a fabulous review above - i would take note of what this guy says, he knows his stuff,

Anoher thing to think about is adding a more descritpive window title to each page - i think you can fgo up to about 180 characters - it will improve your search ranks - also make sure you have filled out all your keywords 10 - 20 maximum and add alt text on all your images.

I notice the favorite icon does not carry onto every page.

You have a great site - all the best with it. (if you need any advice about what i have suggested just ask)

Hello lea seligman

You have done a wonderful job of organizing your site's content. It is very easy to navigate and understand.

I would agree with Peter's suggestion that you change the color of the font. It is a bit difficult to read. Perhaps you could go a couple shades darker and still maintain that look you're going for.

I also agree with Peter's assessment regarding your homepage. It does have a lot of good information but this makes for a lengthy read. I would suggest breaking it up a bit. Perhaps you could make subpages?

For example:
Homepage (your main page)
- wireless system (this would be a sub-page)
- monitoring (this would be a sub-page)
- wiring and alarm (this would be a sub-page)

If you'd like further information on how to create subpages, please use this tutorial: http://www.yola.com/tutorials/creatin...

I wish you luck with this venture and every success!
