Hello Sarah,

Private registration refers to the domain owner details.

By default your registration details supplied at the time of purchase of a domain are placed on a publicly accessible file accessed by a domain whois enquiry.

Private registration hides your personal details like name, address and phone number. It is a paid for subscription facility.

Private domain registration is a service provided by a number of domain name registrars. If a person buys privacy from the company, who in turn replaces the person's info in the WHOIS with the info of a forwarding service such as Domains by Proxy,ID Protect, etc.By the private registration service your details will be hidden from the public view.So it will avoid the hackers to your domain and unwanted emails to your site. There are many registrars provide the private domain registration such as http://www.xnynz.com/domainaddon/priv... .After registered you can check it with http://www.whoisxy.com/ .
