What happened to Yola's blog and Truste widgets?

I was trying to help a teacher to set a website which she was requesting to have a blog page too. After signing her up to Yola silver, I found out there is no blog page and Truste seal anymore. We had to stop working on the website because she needed website with blog.

Why will someone exterminate something that they are good at.

Other companies trying to go higher with new product, but Yola is going down with getting rid of their useful product and adding useless products.

Hello Dante

I'm sorry that you find yourself missing features after upgrading your Yola account.

We've discontinued our partnership with Truste because it hadn't been as successful as we hoped it would be, and it also seemed to turn out to be a bit too pricey for our small businesses target group.

The Yola Blog Widget has been stopped a while ago. We made this decision because Yola is not a Blog provider, and others do a much better job on that. However, the good news is that we've replaced this need by a new blog feature: We've partnered with Tumblr in order to integrate with a blog widget to use on your Yola website. Please find more information on this on one of our most recent company blog posts: How to integrate Tumblr.

Please let me know if you have further questions on this.

Hello Rui,

I am able to continue to use the Blog facility but I limit it greatly in case there is a death knoll coming. There has been no guarantee offered by Yola to current users of the facility and unfortunately no way to migrate the current Yola blog over to another platform , including the Tumblr system.

It is nerve wracking and the way I am dealing with this is to make new posts on the Tumblr system advising readers of the site that new posts follow on a different page. I was able to recover the Yola posts in a database before Yola stopped this facility and will hopefully be able to convert these at some time to a new platform but this is not guaranteed.

Yes Rui, as Gop indicates, those already using the blog still have access to it, it's just no longer available on new websites.

Hello Rui

We most certainly would like to have the best of both worlds with a powerful Sitebuilder and blogging platform as well. However, we simply do not have the capacity to do both justice, so we have decided to focus on our core product which is the Sitebuilder, and allow people to make use of third party plugins such as Tumblr if they wish to incorporate a blog into their website. We feel that this is the way we are best able to serve the needs of our customers at this time, and although this may change in future, this is the direction we will be taking for the foreseeable future.

Thank you so much for your awesome praise and your understanding, Rui! If you have a Yola account with an existing Yola Blog Widget, I can assure you that you won't need to worry about us taking your existing blog away from you. You'll always have access to it and be able to edit it. However, should errors with its functionality occur, we won't be able to fix them because of the discontinued status of the feature.
