What is a solution to seeing slideshare presentations with a big blank box etc?

Hello,

I have embedded slideshare on my yola site. When my client clicks to open the presentation in slideshare she says:
I'm having problems viewing the video/slides. I've clicked on the images and go through to slide-share and click the acronym to play, but nothing comes up - one big blank box, but under it I can see lots of numbered questions that appear to be explanations of what is suppose to be in the box?
Any advice on what I can say to her? I have asked the same question to SlideShare. Not sure if the problem is on yola side or their side. It seems it might be coming from their side. Have you heard anything.

Thanks, Naomi

It could be one of many things - if you share the URL i can take a look at the code for you.

Where are the images hosted? at yola or slideshare?

Here's the FAQ link for slideshare that may be of help to you:

I'm wondering if perhaps you have not copied the code entirely or maybe you don't have the latest flash player?

Please do post your site URL and we can take a look at what's going on.

Hi there,

Images hosted at slideshare.

I think I copied the code entirely. Latest flash player could be a good reason.

Here is the url http://saml.yolasite.com/
Here is url to link directly to a presentation (to save you some time) http://saml.yolasite.com/holland-ppt.php

Thanks for the FAQ from slideshare, I shall have a look at it.

Honestly, you have the best customer service.

Best,
Naomi

Hello,

SlideShare says that it is working fine on their end. But it is still not working for the end user. I have sent them a screenshot of what she sees. I am sending it to you to have a look at to see what you think.

Cheers,
Naomi

On the link you give above i see the slide show fine my end.

Suggest updating the version of Internet Explorer (or even better install firefox 3.5) and check the installed flash version.

IE8 - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/inte...

Flash 10 - http://www.adobe.com/products/flashpl...

I am also seeing the slideshow. Has your client been able to try in a different browser, or try any of Lee's suggestions about upgrading or checking their Flash version?
