Im trying to see where my inbounds links are. I completed another one of those website graders and was told I had 62. I spent two days advertising, leaving links on forums, free business listings and 4 days later I recheck my inbound links and what do you know ... still 62. Does anyone know how you can find where those links are, and even perhaps see where your competitors inbound links are?

Oh, and another thing, do you have to write the http:// part of your URL when leaving a link? It seems that way on yahoo answers (does anyone know if leaving a link to your URL on yahoo does anything?), but other websites, specially business listings do not specify.
Thanks guys

Is there anything besides Google? I find that they don't display anywhere near the right amount.
Also can anyone tell me about the

or
www.a-class-driving.com
which one is the one to use when leaving the trail of breadcrumbs behind when linking?

Hi there Will,
After a bit of research It seems the best service to use for this is in fact Google Webmaster.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be able give you advice on the best link to use. I will ask our SEO specialist to give you some feedback on this when she comes online..

Hi Will
I have been doing some swatting lately on SEO and found that many websites and blogs insert a poticular kind of code that restricts it being counted as an out bound link to your site.
The code is rel="nofollow"
If you want to leave a link on a website - before you do look at its source (View > View Source)
Then bring up the find a word dialoge Ctrl > F (PC)
Now search the word 'follow' if you manage to find the code above (rel="nofollow" ) then your out bound links from that site will not score you any points. That code is telling the search bots not to follow that link.
Perhaps not the news you wanted to hear but I hope it helps you put your links on to sites that count!
YouTube has this code and therfore outbound links are not scored.
Regards
Stewart

Thanks for adding that Stewart! Some people don't realize that sometimes links that you add get no followed. I know that some places will removed the no follow attribute when certain criteria is met. Great information there, much appreciated!

I personally use www.tracemyip.org
It's pretty nice. I haven't bought the bigger version but the free one is pretty nice and accurate.

Hi Will,
Here is a link to a webpage that gives information on query strings that you can use at the various search engines to find see your incoming links. Granted, these are not always completely accurate, as you have found out with Google: Query strings for inbound links.
As it has been alluded to in this thread, it's hard to find something that will give you 100% accurate results. You will find lots of SEO Tools out there to help with this, there is a company called SEOmoz that has a great deal of SEO Tools, granted, many of the tools are not free, but I have found them to be some of the best. Here is a link: SEOmoz.org.
Hope this helps a bit!
