What text size is between "tiny" and "small"?

What is the default font size in the text widget? It seems to be font="1.5" or something like that. It's clear that "tiny" = "1" and "small" = "2". However, there is a third size, in between 1 and 2, that my text always begins in. Actually, I like this size best. However, I don't know how to duplicate it when I want to. How can I indicate that I want the text to appear in the original, default size - the one in between "tiny" and "small" (or in between "1" and "2")?

Btw, I'm using the Dirtylicious template, in case that makes a difference.

Okay, I figured out how to replicate this size - open up the HTML widget and remove the "font" tag. Still, it's odd that a size is offered in the widget itself that is not offered in the font-size drop-down menu. (You know?)

Update: I've tried going through the HTML and deleting the font="1" tags, but this doesn't work. The widget just keeps them, or re-inserts them. The result is that I cannot render the page in the size that I want, the one in between "1" and "2". The page starts out in that size, but then the size changes further down the page. I can't correct the later parts to the preferred size because I don't know what to call it!

Further update: I've discovered that you can't actually dictate font size by using the HTML widget. I've gone into the code and deleted all the font tags, but that has had no effect at all on font size. I've also attempted to add new font tags to enlarge the size of the text -- this too is ineffective. What to do?

Hello Keara

Can you please point us to the page where you're trying to adjust the font size? Thanks.

Sanja, to take up the first question, please look at http://drawingsandprints.yolasite.com/

As you will see, I have put up three sentences, all using the exact same words. The first one is in the "original" font size - the one that does not have a name. After I typed that sentence, I copied it and then formatted it using the "tiny" size, which appears as the second sentence. I copied the original sentence once more and then formatted it using the "small" font size; this sentence appears as the third sentence.

I'd like to be able to use the original size in various places on my site. However, because it does not have a name, and because it does not appear on the font-size drop-down menu, it is often impossible to do that.

Hello Keara

I wondering if you didn't format your text, the original size will come up? Can you try dragging a Text Widget and just simply start typing? Does it appear the way you want it?

to test... where you have your "tiny" size in the middle of the other two sizes, try highlighting that and clicking the "clear formatting" button in the toolbar in sitebuilder. This should change it to "original" size. Then you can format it from there (color, font, etc.) and it'll remain the "original" size.

Sanja, I've already tried that. Several times. Apparently I've asked a question that no one is able to answer??

The ONLY way Sanja's solution wouldn't work is If you somehow managed to change the default font which means no matter what you do, the default size doesn't appear first which I also believe isn't possible or if the template you have has a different default which I think they all are the 1.5 font size.

I know whenever I add a new text widget and start typing, the 1.5 font size is in place... and that's what Sanja suggested.

I'm not sure if this will work, but have you tried removing all of the formatting to get the text size back to the original size, then restyling color or font as you like?

I have tried many things. Many, many things. I only asked the question in this forum when I had tried everything I could possibly think of, to the point where I was totally fed up with the whole problem. Since posting the question here, all I have received are questions for me to answer. This seems backward to me. How about some help instead???

if you did that... then your font size is 1.5 right? It would have to be unless you have bad html somewhere on the page. I suggest attempting this on a new page.

I believe that Monique has gone to the right place for an answer -- the software engineers. If there is going to be a solution, I believe that is where it will come from.

well... maybe I misunderstood the question. But if at any time you want to change your font to the "default" or "original" size then highlighting and clicking the clear formatting button is without a doubt the best solution and probably what the engineers will come up with. But maybe I misunderstood what you wanted.

It could be some kind of errors. Occassionally people will have a problem that not many other people will have.

When I'm working in Internet Explorer, I can't change the color of my links and when I'm working in Firefox, the color of my link can change, but the underline of the link will stay it's default color. And it's always been that way for me on every template I use. But I'm like one of three people with this problem.

Donald, the underline link not changing colour problem is one I hit before. Just drop down another line (hit enter) and then drag/select text you want to change colour. It'll change both text and underlline for you then.

Best,

Paul
