What's the best way for me to completely redesign my site?

I am going to be redesigning everything on my site.

I am going to:
Choose a different site template
Make templates for each of my pages
Tidy up the navigation
Put updated codes on all of my pages

Should I take my site down to make these changes? It will make it a lot easier to do as I would like to update the site and show it to people to get their opinions on it. I am probably going to take the site down from all it's subdomains, then, to show people, temporarily p[publish it to a .yolasite.com domain.

How would you recommend I do it?

Hi Will,

What I would suggest, is to maybe build another site in your SiteBuilder and then carry on working on that until you're ready to publish it. Once you're ready to publish, you can unpublish the other site and publish the new site to the domain or subdomain you have now.

I hope this helps.

I have the maximum of 5 sites and I don't want to buy Yola silver.

Some more info; I have unpublished the site and it's subsites, and I'm about to delete them. I have taken the codes and content off the site and saved into some text documents, and then I'm going to make it from scratch. It should, in theory, allow me to make a template for all the pages, and make the site more fluent, appealing and professional.

Are there any disadvantages to doing it like this, and if there are, is there another way of doing it for free?

Hi Will,

Thank you for sharing update on your progress. It certainly sounds like you have your plans under control! Unfortunately if you have 5 sites in your account, the only way to create a new one is to delete a current one which will allow you to start from scratch again as 5 sites is the limit on a free account.

We would love to see what you come up with once you get going on your new site.
