I would like to know what's the easiest and more efficient way to present a portfolio of pictures on my website?
I'm buliding my scouting agency's website, and i have to upload pictures of the models i work with.
While i was working on my personal website, i posted a similar question here, and Sanja told me about the Flickr.
That works for my personal website, but i don't know if works for the agency's website.
Since i'm looking for something not so exotic, but at the same time, not so simple looking.
But still if possible, with the thumbnails that make the picture bigger when you click on it.
I will appreciate a lot your help, and also if you know somebody else that already did what i'm looking for.
Thank you and have a great week,
Cesar Curti

Hi Cesar,

One way to create a gallery of clickable thumbnails is with the Flickr Lightbox Widget. However, if you do not wish to use Flickr and would like to create your own custom gallery, this is possible, although a little time consuming. Here is what you would need to do:

1. Create a page with your thumbnails
2. Create pages for each of the full sized images.
3. Link the thumbnail to the page with the corresponding fullsized image.
4. On each page with the fullsized image you could add a hyperlink back to the thumbnail (gallery) page.

For detailed instructions on how to create your gallery, please see our tutorial: Photo Galleries, Portfolios and Presentations.
The instructions you need are under the heading "The DIY Approach". This tutorial also tells you how to use Flickr Lightbox, so take a look at this as well as an easy alternative.

Here are the instructions you will need to create your links:

1. Drag and drop a Text Widget onto your page
2. In the text widget type the words that you want people to click on (this is your link text)
3. Highlight the link text and then click on the link button (it's the 10th button from the left in the text editing tool bar, and looks like the link in a chain)
4. A link editor dialogue box will open up and you will be given 4 options. You can link to an email address, an external URL, a page on your own site or a file on your computer.
5. Click on and edit the option appropriate for you

You will then have a link on your page. To check that your link is working preview your page and then click on the link.

This is a brief explanation of how to add links, we have written a tutorial that shows the process in more detail. Here is the link: Creating Links.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If anything I have said, or anything in the tutorials, does not make sense to you, please let me know.

Hello Kershnee,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Actually i find the option you gave me a good one. But not really efficient for what i have in mind, since you can only look at one picture at the time, and must go back all the time to check the other ones out.

I'll probably just upload them normally in the page, and find a way to make it look beautiful and stylish at the same time.

Thank you one more time for your time and help,
i really appreciate that.

Thank you very much, and all the best
