how can i change the information that comes up about me when i copy and paste my yola url into facebook? at the moment it's the embarrassing yola blurb and photo that came with my free site...! I have gone to page properties to try and change this, and on the index page i have deleted everything apart from one of my uploaded images and started again but to no avail. This means that I can't share my site on facebook as it looks like someone else... Help!

Hi susannah

Did you publish your website first with the default text and pictures, and then enter the URL into Facebook? Did you then republish your website with your own content? Facebook will take some time to update data from other websites after they have been changed. Unfortunately this is beyond Yola's control.

If you published your website with your own content right from the start, and then you entered your URL into Facebook, but they still view the default content, please let me know, and we'll look into this.

i published my site after i'd deleted the original yola message. However, it still continues to show it even though I can't find the yola message anywhere in the html. I even deleted the original index page and made a new one just to make sure, but the message and yola stock photo still came up!
I have actually made 2 websites through yola..I abandoned the first one due to this problem, so took pains to make sure i deleted all the stock photos before proceeding to build the second website. If I can't sort this out i wil have to go to a different site to make my website as I need to be able to use facebook to promote it...any help gratefully appreciated!

Hello susannah

I have tried to reproduce the error you posted in my own Yola account. I created a new website with the same default pictures and texts, then replaced most elements and published. After that I entered the URL of my site into Facebook. However, it didn't show the default elements of the Style, but the custom elements I had added, such as the new picture and new texts.

It could be an error specific to your Yola account. With your permission I could test it, but as you have reached the limit of 2 websites in your Yola Free account, I'd need to delete one of your sites. I could remove the first one published to susannahthompson.yolasite.com, and then create a new test site to check.

If you want me to go ahead, please let me know.

If it means you can fix the problem you are welcome to delete the first site!

Hello susannah

Can you please first check something for me quickly?

I can see your custom text and pictures of your website on Facebook if I enter this URL:
http://susannahthompson2.yolasite.com/index.php
(this is the direct URL to your home page)

Can you please test if it's working on your end as well? Here is a picture from my Facebook account for your reference:

Please keep me posted.

Hello Susannah

It seems to have been just a matter of time, and Facebook has updated your website data. When I now type just susannahthompson2.yolasite.com (without index.php) into Facebook on my end, I'm getting the same picture as above. I have tested this in Firefox and Chrome by logging in and out of my Facebook account to ensure it's not a lucky incident:

Please note that Facebook and search engines will always need a certain time to update their data. This is unfortunately beyond Yola's control.
