My text is not displaying properly when I resize my browser

Everything gets all jumbled up and looks like garbage.
A sentence that is this long:
(---------------------------------------------------------------------------------)
Would get bunched into something this size.
(----------
-----------
-----------
-----------
-----------)
It just looks sooooooooooooooo bad.
Im using the midnight alley style with the 3 long box layout.
I would like everything from the right box to be its full size, while the middle box gets pushed to the right.
Any ideas ?

Hi Kevin,

It sounds like you may have copied and pasted from MS Word or another rich text editor. We're not experiencing a problem at the moment. Please take a look at the Effects of copying and pasting from MS Word or an external source section of this tutorial and let me know if that solves yoru problem.

o7 Laura,

No copy pasted.
I used the text widget.

Go here, and unmaximize your browser.
As you make the browser smaller from left to right, all of text goes from this size
(-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------)
To this size.

Someone in another forum responded with this answer.

"Anything on your page that you don't want to allow to resize you will have to set a width to, or a min-width if you don't mind it resizing a little bit.

It is default behavior for a browser to try to resize the page to fit the window, unless it comes across a css property that tells the browser that an element on a website can't get any smaller than specified."

So how would I adjust my CSS to make all text show in full sentence and not bunch up ?

Well hidding tis at the bottom of my text in HTML seems to work

p
{
min-width:500px;
}

Can you implement this in the CSS to do the same thing ?
How do I implement this for my menus, when I make the browser smaller from left to right, the top menu starts to overlap the bottom menu, making it impossible to click the second menu.
