Does anyone know when Yola will allow:
1 - password protected pages so that people can be charged a 'membership fee' to access only certain pages where they will need to register and pay to obtain access
2 - a function to allow direct upload of videos, i.e., not just videos from Youtube?

These are a must for my business and may have to change providers if they don't come online soon.

Hello Katie

I'm sorry that you're missing these features for your needs. The membership login feature is on our list and being discussed, but realistically speaking it will not be released very soon. We are also still exploring our users' specific needs about this feature. If you want to contribute, you're more than welcome to do our survey to which you'll find a link in this thread.

It's true that it's not possible to upload and display your videos using a Yola Widget at the moment. It makes sense to use third-party providers to add videos to your Yola website because by uploading videos which usually have a larger file size you may reach the storage limit of your Yola account too soon.

If you don't want to use YouTube or Metacafe, there is an excellent workaround using freevideocoding.com. You will need to upload your videos to their servers, but although they are free, you can choose the option to not display their brand name, and there isn't any advertising involved. The little video screen looks neutral and is suitable for professional business websites. The only thing you will need to make sure is that your code, especially your URLs are 100% correct. File names and extensions are case-sensitive and need to be provided in the code they give you exactly as they are. For more information please refer to our tutorial Upload my own video.
