The browser tab says PLACEHOLDER PAGE when visitors (or I) go to my site g4gorilla.yolasite.com. Why?

I am able to view http://g4gorilla.yolasite.com as well. Is this your site?

Hi TNK.

My site's been going since at least July 19. One of my visitors just contacted me with this pageholder problem, so I went into my account/control panel and I hit the update/publish button to see if that fixed the problem. Then after I clicked "update", I opened my site via the prompt-box (you know, the one that says "your professional domain may be available"). That actually worked, but I get nothing every time I type the address in my browser, nor does the site come up if I follow the link from a forum on which I post (which is the one most of my visitors use, including the visitor who left a comment to tell me about this issue). Why can't he or I see my site? And, did you get the site up by typing the address in, or by some other means?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Harmon, (This is TNK, I just changed my username to a short one)

To answer your question, I tried every possible way to get into your site and all of them worked. I can see your site up and running (take a look at the picture Kershnee has posted).

Could you try and go to http://g4gorilla.yolasite.com/more-g4... - does it work? This problem may be caused by some sort of html code you have inserted. What was the most recent html code you entered into your site?

Hi Kershnee,

That's the one alright. :)

I've just tried it here on my house pc, and it's okay (I was in my office before). I can also get the site to come up via your post above. Problem is, I went back to the music forum I mentioned before, and when I clicked my link there, the placeholder page came up again.

Now, I'm not sure what why the browser address didn't work on my office pc, *but* I think I've cracked the mystery of the forum link.

On the forum, I've included the link to my site in my forum signature. That link works fine. But in one forum thread, I typed the address www.g4gorilla.yolasite.com in a couple of my comments, both time with a full-stop. Those links don't work. Maybe the full-stop is the problem - I dunno - but I've done the exercise a couple of times now with the same result.

Maybe this info can help you with other queries...

Hi Harmon.

Is it possible for you to share with us your forum url so that we can take a look there to see what is going on?

Thanks Kumby!

Your link worked... I'm now checking out the "full-stop-messes-up-link-and-goes-to-the-placeholder" theory...

Thanks Littleus,

No prob now. Luckily the forum has no time limit for editing, and I took the full stops out and things work fine...
