Yola is clearly the worlds best site builder, but Yola, who do you regard as your toughest competitors on the web?

i don't think anyone wants to talk about this as it may cause Yola to loose customers.

"How Important Is It?"

When I find something that is working well I tend to stay with it. Yola is not like a car, toaster or frying pan that needs to be replaced. I look at it like this "If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It."

It's a manner of option on who is better or worse. What looks good to some people looks ugly to others.

I know you don't think that Yola is broke and needs replacing. I also think that if a list was to be put out some may change to someone else. Many if these other sites had a forum like this one someone sooner or latter someone will mention Yola (If they let them) and some will come over here. Also if they had a forum would they give you a chance to ask a question like this.

I liked it at Yola and have look at other sites builders and choose Yola. I choose Yola because it the best that I could find, and Yola being the best one has help me make better sites. (yes my site still need improvement, Yola, and Get Satisfaction will help).

I guess it's what kind of list you want? Have you tried Google Search.

Maybe other who read this list will just add

"I Like Yola" and sign there name.

That will give you one list.

I would say that Weebly.com is a very big competitor. Im not turning against Yola but Weebly is catching on and it may become better than Yola.

I think Yola will always be better. I have tried all kinds of website builders, but all of the good features, you have to upgrade. But not on Yola! There are so many great features for free! On Web Starts, you have to upgrade just to add a domain you own! Yola is the best! :) But, one feature that would be nice is to have the "Edit page source code" so we can edit the HTML code of our website's if we are experienced in HTML or if we wanted to edit the head section or, the body tag.

I like Yola...no, I love Yola! I have tried many free site buiders; none of which I wanted to upgrade an account in. I am studying to be a better Yola Expert. My primary domain is hosted by Google, but, it is a bit difficult for me. I only use it as a repository for affiliate banner codes. I hope Yola goes 3d. I am going for the Silver. There was a site with new tech features, called FreeWebTools.com. It is pretty cool, check it out. I don't think of it as a substitute for Yola, but, it shows promise. It is a bit harder to learn, perhaps. There is a 3d background on Wix I'd love to make a site with; but, it is harder, even, & Wix doesn't cooperate very well if you have other tabs open. I liked CrawlDog, where I had several pretty sites; but, they all disappeared when the company went under. I thought I liked DevHub, but, after a lag, I went back to the sites I was building, & most of my posted material had disappeared. Commerciality messed up that one, probably. I am looking for a simple 3d mall interface where I can build stores for affiliate banners. The closest thing to this is a few trade show 3d systems. I only want that if it's cheap & I can use it 24/7. There are some decent blog style sites; as I have many of them; like SodaHead, BlogSpot, Xanga, & a few more I have enjoyed; but, guys, in all honesty, nothing tops Yolasites! Yola rules... A1.

Hi c2print - I see that we're trying to help you on this thread: http://forum.yola.com/yola/topics/wil.... I think Emmy asked you whether she could try and publish your site for you and you haven't responded. Would you mind giving us the go ahead on that thread?

Hi All

You may have noticed that none of the official Yola reps elected to reply to Ruhan's question posted 12 months ago, and that no reps have replied since to the question itself. The reason for this is that we don't choose to engage in this particular discussion because we do not regard it as productive - not because we fear that talking about it will cause us to lose customers.

Obviously we rate our own sitebuilder very highly, or else we would not all be working for Yola! However, we are aware that people have choices and that there are different services that meet different people's needs better than others. We would rather spend our energies making Yola great than in focusing on "the competition". We know that there are some very passionate Yola supporters here, which we love, but because of this conversations of this nature are apt to get a bit unpleasant, which we don't love.

I hope you guys will join the Yola reps and move on from this debate.

Those who say Yola isn't working for them are quite obviously doing something wrong! I've recently been having much success with my http://www.simplyeighties.com website and this is thanks to the comprehensive range of free building tools and ease-of-use with Yola. I've tried other so-called "free" web builers, but I find them not very easy to use and you have to pay extra for many features.

Yola just keeps on improving and I now have four websites that have been built with Yola and I'm sticking you guys as you're unbeatable!

I'm a 70 yr old intermediate computer user that likes design. I will subscribe if I can resole the following:

1) I am set on using slider show (12 images = 12 products) one slide for each. can some one please show me a Yola build with a slider

2) We have a Landing Page Video...Do you have landing pages per se?

3) Will I own the pages That I build?

4) Can I use different Portals like PayPal and Google check out?

Dear Khun Bernard,

  1. You can use sliders on Yola built sites. There are a large number of these available on the web for embedding directly into a Yola built page. Commonly they use jquery and may be embedded with a couple of javascript files linked. Yola Silver is ideal for this but not obligatory as you can host the js files externally. I don't know a url as an example but will search further.

  2. Landing pages can be built as your index page or as a stand alone page if directed by a link externally with a follow on page (automatic or manual) to your primary function page. Yola doesn't have a spearate type of page as a Splash page per se

  3. You most definitely own the site and all content within the site according to Copyright Law. This is controlled ultimately by Yola's Terms of Service.

  4. Payment Gateways can be used within Yola. This is limited by the gateway set up and has been implemented into the excellent product of the Online Store by Yola. Free standing gateways may also be used if their systems are compatible. PayPal and Google Checkout are commonly used on Yola buil;t sites

Wow, Can you bee any more helpful, I'm going to buzz over and sign up for free Then bump it when the eagles pass thru in a couple weeks. Belated, I found the 'Online Page' Your Gateways, are more than sufficient. Thank You

I'm going with Yola. At the moment we're wrapping on details for a trial. Can't wait to show the Product, so you can say wow too. Wish we could partner-up, it would be mutually beneficial. I have ideas that will out live me and my laptop skills.

This City's not a Word Press community, so it's been difficult to get tuts with face time here. Before I discovered the WP void, I purchased 'Max Landing' from: Max Foundry. Not sure, but I think 'MaxLanding.' is a plug-in exclusively for WordPress, useless or a template wire frame reference ?

I discovered Yola before I was ready, remember Emmy Bill's great Vimeo tut, when that platform seemed to have issues or strings. I just climbed out of a truck into retirement, went from 10 hrs per week to10 hrs a day to catch up with stuff in flux. Sometimes Lazy is another word for being selfishly overwhelmed. Any help you lend will always be appreciated... and remembered.

A quick shout on a comment from RealProvision. ...and Monique vpCS, you make it a great neighborhood. "I like this place." Now if I could just get back the page I built over at Homeless Intuit. Y'all could a been gettin them bucks.

And one more 'Like', "Yola doesn't spend it's time worrying about competition, They would rather spend time improving Yola". Can't loose with that C.S.M. philosophy, obviously. My future site should look so clean.

Thank You Gop; extraordinary and diligent customer service G. There's was a couple questions in there some where... Good Day... tomorrows another ??

make sure you let us know how you are progressing and if you need a forum to bounce ideas or clarify solutions use this place freely.
My most favourite (yola or otherwise) e-com site is Kan Thai Decor. Very elegant and unfussed. I'm sure you will appreciate his skill and eye for design.
