I am being asked to purchase a bronze plan when I already have a domain purchased through Yola which doesn't expire until Aug. 2013. My website is no longer posting because of this, will someone please help me with this issue.

Hello Kingdombound

In order to publish your Yola website to a custom domain, you need to have one of our hosting packages Yola Bronze, Yola Silver, or Yola Gold.

In our system I can see that you used to have a Yola Bronze package which has expired. This is why your website went offline. In order to get your website back online, you will need to renew your Yola Bronze package. Please log into your account, click on the "Account" link in the left-hand side menu, and click on "Renew" next to your package.

I never had to pay for a package before, and I have had this website for a couple of years. Is this a new requirement?

Hi Kingdombound,

Our package changes went into effect over a year ago. We emailed all our customers about it, we blogged about it and shared it in our social media channels. Additionally we indicate this in the Sitebuilder, in domain renewal notices and during the domain renewal purchase flow.

You can read about the changes here.

Customers who had domains registered for terms longer than a year should not be prompted to select a hosting package until their domain is due for renewal. If you believe you are being prompted to select hosting prematurely (i.e. prior to your domain expiry under our old pricing plan) please submit a request to support here so we can investigate further.
