Why are my uploaded HTML files now 403 Forbidden?

I have uploaded HTML files that interface with Google Maps API using javascript.

At about 1400hrs (Sydney, Australia) on Thursday (04/09/08) I was able to access these files from my updated/published site.

Now (1700hrs 05/09/08) I get the "403-Forbidden" message.

The reason I have moved from Google Page Creator to Synthasite is that Google is shutting down GPC and shifting to Google Sites which does not allow HTML uploads.

Is this now the case for Synthasite? or is this a temporary bug? or is this an issue on my end?

Hi Matt,

Did you get my email regarding this?

The reason we have taken the step to prevent uploaded HTML pages from being viewed is to address a security vulnerability. Pages hosted by SynthaSite need to be created using the Site Builder tool.

However, there is an HTML editor which can be used to insert custom HTML and that could serve your needs.

I hope that you will still be able to work with SynthaSite.
