Hi haloflooder...

You can add music by using the Widgetbox Mp3 player: It is the simplest to implement and add for the site builder as well as use and understand for the viewer.

1) Go to this webpage: http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/mp3-p...
2) If you wish your music to auto start then leave the auto start box checked. If you wish to have many players on your page then un-check this box
3) In the URL text box add the URL of the Mp3 song on your site
4) Adjust the color
5) Click on the green 'Get Widget' button
6) In the pop up click the "Copy" button
7) Drag and drop a Widgetbox Gallery widget onto your page
8) Paste the copied code into the Widgetbox widget text box
9) Click "OK"
10) Click update
11) Preview your page in your browser to tet your widget(s)
.
.
The following were taken from other posts but selected as the pertinent parts
.
If there is a song that is hosted somewhere on the web (something with a URL, as opposed to a file that is saved on your computer) you can try to following:
1) Drop a Google Gadgets icon on your page (you will find it in the widgets folder) and click on the link it the dialog that will take you to Google Gadgets.
2) Select the MP3 player and click "add to website"
3) In the song URL box, paste the URL of the song you want to play on your site, and then click "get code"
4) Copy the code and paste it into the Google Gadgets dialog box in SynthaSite.

To test your song, save and preview your page and you will be able to play it with your own little MP3 player.

You can add music by using the Widgetbox Gallery:
1. Drag and drop a Widgetbox Gallery widget onto your page
2. A dialogue box will open, click on the Audio category or search for music
3. Choose the player that you would like to use on your site
4. Click on the Settings button (looks like a tool!) on the left to edit your settings
5. Click on the green 'Get Widget' button and it will be saved and added to your page
6. Save and preview your page to view the widget!

Alternatively you can add music by using Widgetbox or Google Gadgets from the "Widgets" folder:
1) Click on the "Widgets" folder on the far right of your screen
2) Drag and drop a Widgetbox widget onto your page. (Google Gadgets also has players)
3) Click on the link in the dialogue box that will take you to Widgetbox
4) Browse for a player. Here is a direct link to one where the plays when your site opens: http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/myplayer
5) Customize your widget (the site will take you through the steps depending on the player you select)
6) Copy the HTML code provided
7) Paste the code into the dialogue box in SynthaSite and click "ok"

(Please ensure that you own the copyright to the you will be playing.)

I have tried the first one of these sites but not the last and you can convert your MIDI and WAV to MP3 at these links. I am not sure as to how many conversions you are allowed each day but you can figure this out through using it... ;)

MIDI to MP3
http://www.hamienet.com/midi2mp3

WAV to MP3
http://media-convert.com/

If all your music is the same music feature and not a different one for each format then your viewer would be able to easily understand your site as the layout is user friendly.

By converting all your music to MP3 you can make use of the above MP3 player widget as the standard player on your site. Simply use a two column widget and put the MP3 player in one side and the text describing it in the other side. The online converters are free to use. If you fail to get them to function then I can assist you with this.

Happy days

Question:
Can I use the mp3 player widget from http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/mp3-p... to play an mp3 file loaded under File Manager into my resources space?

If my site address is http:mysite101/synthasite.com, and I loaded a file called song.mp3, what is the correct format to refence this in the music player?

Is there a specific version of the code I should use to work with my synthasite website?

I would really appreciate the help as I have not been able to make it work.

Thanks

Hi Pablo - the URL to add to the settings of the mp3 player would be http://mysite101. synthasite.com/ resources/ song.mp3 (please ignore the spaces in the address, those are there so that the whole URL shows)

Personally I use a program called MIDI Converter Studio that helps me convert midi files to mp3, wav, wma and ogg formats. It is simple and intuitive: just drag and drop midi files into its window and click "Convert". It processes a single midi file in a couple of seconds.
