I am very frustrated. I have gotten a free account and viewed the tutorials. The information appears to allow a person to load files and photos on their site; however when I attempt to do so, all I am allowed to do is purchase photos. Can someone assist me please? I am not over the 15MB by any stretch of the imagination.

Hi Jeanne

I completely understand your frustration about not being able to load photos on your site.

The information in the tutorials you are referring to is correct - you should be able to add many photos to your website before you run out of storage space - Free users get 1GB of storage. And it sounds like you are aware of the 15MB limit for single uploads to the File Manager.

As you are not able to upload the photos, please check the following:

  • The photo files must be in RGB 16-bit format. If you have created or edited your files using a graphics program such as Photoshop, you may have saved it in CMYK format, which will prevent the files from being uploaded. You will be able to check the format if you open it using a graphics program. To change the format, use "Save As" and select the RGB format for your files.

  • The image file must have a valid image file extension. Acceptable file extensions for images on the web are .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png and .bmp, e.g. myphoto.jpg.

If these suggestions do not resolve the problem, please share your website link so that we can test the photo uploads for you.

Thank you
Nazlie

Thanks for the additional information. It sounds like it could be the browser. Which browser and version are you using to build your website. You can try using a different browser to see if it helps.

Hi Jeanne,

I would recommend Firefox 3.6, this is Yola's preferred browser.
