Hi caolanvaughan,

We don't currently have a tool that allows you to upload your video and play it on your Yola site but you can upload video onto other sites such as Youtube or Metacafe and then add one of those widgets to your page on Yola and browse for your uploaded video.

To add a video to your page, follow these few simple steps:

1. Open the "video" folder on the right hand side of the screen and drag and drop a Youtube or Metacafe icon onto your page.
2. In the properties sidebar on the right, click on the "browse" link.
3. Browse Youtube or Metacafe for the video you want to embed in your site.
4. Copy the URL for the video from your browser window.
5. Paste the URL over the default URL in the properties sidebar in Yola. Hit "Enter" and then click "Apply".

Your video will then be embedded in your web page.

Alternately, you can use HTML to embed wmv, wma, swf, flv, mov or rm files onto your site. If this suits your needs better check out the steps below.

1. Locate the URL of your file. e.g. http://yourdomain.yolasite.com/resour....
2. Please go to freevideocoding.com.
3. Select the media you want to post.
4. Enter your Media file location (the URL of your file)
5. Select "Embed the Player".
6. Click on "Make HTML" button.
7. Highlight and copy the code provided.
8. Drag and drop an HTML widget and paste in the code.
9. Click "OK".

You should see your video working. Please note that there is a buffering period - the speed of this is dependent on the speed of your internet's server.

I hope one of these solutions will work for you!

Thankyou for these instructions.

Is there a reason they do not work with any of these video host sites.

There are a couple of others I havent tried - dailymotion.com and Livevideo.com - the first three are my preferred hosting sites .Anything but Utube and Metacafe !!!

Hello 0oseven

Any of those video hosting sites should work with Yola. Here are specific instructions for adding a video from Vimeo:

Visit vimeo.com and choose the video you would like to add to your Yola site.

Click on the 'embed' button. A dialog box will open with code that you can copy - copy it by using Ctrl-C or right click > copy.

Back on your site, follow these steps to add the video:

1. Drag-and-drop an HTML Widget from the sidebar on the right onto your page (the icon for this is a blue sphere).
2. An HTML editor will open up that will allow you to write or paste your code (use right-click > paste or ctrl-V to paste).
3. When you are done, click "ok" and you will see the video appear on your page.

Here's a thread on our forum which shows you how to add a video from Bliptv.com: Click here

Most likely with Veoh.com - you can also use the HTML code to add to your site.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.
