why do the transparant images on my site react with the hover over text code i have?

hi,

if you go to
http://sports-info.synthasite.com/mot...
and hover over the 2 checkered flages, why do they go red like the text?

the text is meant to but why the images, this happens on every transparant image i have that links to somthing

on the blog page the RSS icon peter gave me

hi Alex, how are you?

I had the same problem its because its a link its highlighting the background.

Nothing can be done except make the background of the image the same color as the site backgorund i.e. not transparent.

oh - i just had an idea, you could add color tag to the link, the color would be the same as the backgorund so it would hover but you wouldnt see it.

PS how do you make images have a transparent backgorund? - i have a new favicon i want to be transparent.

PPS why are you not linking sports-info.info?

hmm, yea, forgot but that (sorry im off on holiday tommorrow lot on ma mind!)

i got the images from Google. just googled racing flag, if you want your favicon to be transparant just make a thread on GS and ask for sombody to make it transparant!

i have no favicon in the site builder i have uploaded the .ico file to the file manager i have its url and i have the code, i put them all together and still nothing.

url is the .synthasite.com one so i dont have to change it when the .info domain runs out,

Is that a .ico file or have you just changed the extension?
if you have just changed the extension go here and make a proper .ico http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/
if that doesnt work - god only knows.

Did the transparent thing work out?

it was already a .ico file i used that URL,

and

i decided to keep the red mouseover thing, it looked quite goof

i give up alex sometimes things dont work for you and i have no idea why.
if you add that code to ahtml widget at the top of the page - republish - then clear your browser history and reload the page that icon will show up.
It works on a test site for me - so??
