Hi,
I was just wondering why Yola doesn't use single sign on because it would be much easier for signing up?

Hi Amar,

Could you give us some more information about the type of sign-on you are referring to? This will help us answer your question.

Hello Amar,

I believe that GetSatisfaction does use a single sign on. You may want to raise this question on their forum: http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa...

It would be cool if the Yola Forum had Single Sign On.

If you guys don't know what Single Sign On is, here is a page about it: Single Sign On

Basically what happens if when a user logs into the website and go to your community and click "I'm a customer" or post a new topic, it pops up a dialog box with their details already in there from their account on the company site. (i.e. Yola's site)

It can also work the opposite way. The user can go to the community first and then they will be prompted to login to your site in a popup dialog before posting.

So, it saves the user from having to create another account on GS, and it will all be linked so after they do that first thing, they will automatically be logged into the forum if they login to the site, and vice-versa.

Here is a video about it from Get Satisfaction: (this video is also on the page I linked to above)

I hope this helps you guys understand Single Sign On / FastPass a little better.

Kind regards,
Nathan

Yeah thanks Nathan for clearing it up a bit. Sometimes I'm not very good at explaining stuff.

One really weird thing is that they use SynthaSite as the example. Did you used to have it?

Yeah I saw that too. I don't know why they would remove it if they used to have it.
