Why is there a border around my images when I insert them using html?

In a few cases I have chosen to insert images on my site via html (img src="http link to my image") rather than use the image widget. In all cases, whether I use the html widget OR edit the html of the text widget, my images come up with a thin border around them even if I use border="0". How can I remove this border?

Hi Jennie

Not sure why this is happening. If you have published your site, can you share the link with me? If not, please do the following:
Send me an example of the HTML code you are using OR
1) log into your account and open your site in the SynthaSite site builder
2) Click on the Help menu and then click "report bug"
3) Fill in the form and send it to me.

We will take a look and see if we can figure out how you can get rid of that border.

Hi Jennie, it could be a style defined by your template. Try using:

img src = '/path/to/file.jpg' style='border:0px;'

Hi Jennie,

I replied to your support request.
Here is another solution if anyone else has the problem.

If the above one doesn't work.

Add an HTML widget anywhere on the page with the images and paste the following code into it :

<style type="text/css">
img{
border:none;
padding:3px;
}
</style>

Regards,
Sean

Hi Marie
Did you add the above code inside an HTML Widget? If it has not worked, can you post a link to your site so that we can take a closer look.
Thank you
Nazlie

Hi Marie. Thanks for sharing your site. The products widget automatically adds a border around your products and the code does not work on the products page. I will ask the HTML team to see if there is a way to remove the boxes around your products using code.
Thank you
Nazlie

does anybody know in general how set up your html/css to make sure your site expands and contracts according to different browsers and resolutions. That's the one thing I haven't gotten yet. Can you wrap all your code in one big div tag?

Hello Jamie

I did a bit of searching on Google and came across this link which you may find helpful: http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/sho...

I have not tried this and cannot ascertain if this will work. You can try it on a test site and see.

I hope this information is helpful to you.
