Why is Yola better than Weebly?

Hi, I'm trying to make a decision between Yola and Weebly. What, in your opinion (other than this forum and support) makes Yola better? So far, I've noticed that the photo gallery tools of Weebly seem to work better, appear nicer on the site I made with Weebly.. I want to make several sites, and Yola has Weebly beat there, for 25 sites on the silver plan. But what else, featurewise makes Yola better? Thanks!

This is quite a difficult question to answer. I actually did a quick search to see what others were saying. All the posts seem to be pretty dated and not a true reflection of what can be done with Yola's Sitebuilder. One of the "reviews" even stated that it was not possible to edit HTML with Yola's Sitebuilder... pff!

I've been with Yola (Synthasite back then) for more than 2 years and have never needed to look anywhere else. Why not give Yola a try and see for yourself. I'm sure you'll be happy. The support is also great btw. Maybe someone who has tried both can chime in here.

I think Yola is better than Weebly, because, some of the features that our in Yola, areen't in Weebly (I mean you have to pay for some features in Weebly that Yola has for free) I havew been with Yola for about 1 year now, and Yola is the one I reccomend! I have tried Weebly, Wix, WebStarts, but over all, I choose Yola! Yola has the BEST Support I have ever heard of!!! The whole time, Yola has helped me! And, if you need to contact support, there is a thing in the site builder that says "Get Help" at the top, right corner, and you cick it and you can go to this forum, you can Contact Support, and you can click "My site wont load!" And now, Yola has new features. The site builder colors are great, and they have tons of widgets! I think the HTML widget is better than Weebly's HTML widget. Also, I think that on Weebly you have to pay for the mp3 widget, but on Yola all these features are free. You can try it for your self and see all the widgets! Visit: http://www.yola.com/pricing Also, Yol has "Yola Mail" now! Yola mail is a webmail system that instantly works with your domain and you can have the online webmail inboxes and lots more! Yola is 100% free! And there is just a "Make a website at Yola" link at the bottom. You can see the website I created with Yola: http://www.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc It is unlimited pages too!

Yola is so great! If there was a rating system, and it was 1 the worst and 10 the best, I would rate Yola a 10!

Hi Guys, thanks for the quick replies. My intention is to pay for Yola's silver package (if I go with them) so the free isn't an issue.. I will try to check it out some more though. Does the export/backup feature work well? Have any of you backed up a site and uploaded it to another host successfully?

Hi Mike,

Thank you for considering Yola to build your website! It's nice to hear that you are considering carefully your options before you start! While I am not in a position to give you detailed information about other website builders, I can tell you about Yola.

Yola offers:

1. Free Sitebuilding and hosting.
2. The option to publish your site to a free subdomain, a domain bought from Yola (19.95 USD per year) or a domain you already own.
3. We will never place pop-up or banner ads on your site.
4. Build your site quickly and easily - drag and drop or point and click. No HTML knowledge required.
5. Features including: text and image editing, HTML editor, password protection, integration with Flickr, YouTube, WidgetBox, PayPal Shopping carts.
6. Create a website, blog or a combination of the two.
7. Add an unlimited number of pages to your site, or an unlimited number of sites in your free account.
8. All features that are currently free will remain free and many new free features will be added.
9. Exciting collection of premium features such as Yola Silver, Premium Styles and Yola Mail.

The above is just a short list of items that may interest you. We also offer free 24/7 support, so if you have any further questions of if there is anything I have not covered, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I encourage you to put the same questions to the other services you are evaluating and compare the responses you receive, so that you can make an informed decision about which site building service meets your needs.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

I'm sorry Nathan, that's a typo! There is a limit to the amount of sites in a free account, it is 5, so sorry to disappoint!

It's okay, that's what I thought because it said in My Yola, "You currently have 3 of 5 sites". I think that is still good though as some site builders only allow 1.

Hello, I'm sorry no one ever got to this question! I have not downloaded my site, but others have. They don't have a backup feature but they do have a thing where you can just download a zip package of your site and then put it onto your own web server or hosting website.

But I suggest for it t be hosted on Yola because whenever you want to edit your site, you have to re-download the files and it is a pain. It would be better to host it on Yola since it is always 100% free hosting and unlimited bandwidth.

If you using Yola try Weebly

Weebly is the best

It's very risk to create site in Yola. They will disable free and silver account without informing.

Hello dmksandaruwan,

We certainly appreciate your opinion on which sitebuilder program you prefer, however, I would like to clarify to you as well as the public that we will never disable a site or account unless it falls in violation of our Terms of Services.

Hi dmksandaruwan

As Brianna said, Yola will never delete your account unless your site violates Yola's terms of service.

Would you mind letting us know where you heard that? Yola is the beat website builder and I think it's better than Weebly and all the other site builders out there. I've tried about 10-15 other builders and Yola beats all them :)

Also Yola has the best support crew ever. Other site builders make you pay for support but Yola is awesome and has free email and forum support.

Sincerely,
Nathan

Personally, I find Yola better. I've used weebly before and to me the interface is very confusing. That's what I like about Yola. On Yola, everything is nicely laid out and clean. However, weebly supports uploading html, css and javascript files on the free acount, and Yola does not. On Yola, you can only upload those files if you have silver. Another thing that I simply love about Yola is the great assemble of templates. Yola templates are definitely better that weebly, especially the premium ones.

Yeah I agree with you. I think Yola is better than Weebly. Weebly seems confusing and the HTML widget isn't as nice as Yola's at all.

Two reasons I am sticking with Yola;

1. Weebly take HALF of your profits from Google Adsense. That's my main reason for sticking with Yola!

2. The Yola site builder is much easier to use.

Yup they sure are, but unfortunately bleed you dry too, as they constantly change our account settings, from paying nothing, to paying $50, then next year $50 + $88 (for a domain, even though i pay $10 in South Africa), so the slogan of Build your Website for FREE, is not really true. But have fun with Yola, as long as you have a ton of cash as there are surprises around every corner............wonder if they will charge us for making negative comments...???????

Hello chene,

We still offer you free site building if you wish. Our Yola Silver price hasn't really changed. If you purchase a domain and the hosting package together, it still remains $99.95. We've revamped our Bronze package so that it included more features, namely the unlimited domain pointing feature! This is something that many of our users wanted but didn't want to upgrade to Silver to take advantage of this feature. So, we have made this more accessible to those who didn't need or want all the extra goodies found in Yola Silver.

We do welcome feedback and constructive criticism as it only helps us to improve.

I have been with many others in the past, but find Yola simpler to use, the support is second to none, and the downtime is kept to an absolute minimum. Years ago I ran a free website with Lycos ( as they were then ), and spent more downtime than uptime. I love Yola, and you wont find me looking elsewhere.

I'm jealous that Weebly allows you to edit the CSS for free thats the only thing they have that yola needs for free.
