Why won't my computer open ANY synthesite created website?

For the entire day I have been trying to view my site http://www.learnmartialartsonline.syn... so I can see what my customers would see and have been getting a "internet explorer cannot display the webpage" page. To see if this was only my site or all synthasite sites, I've tried going to one of the sites featured on synthasites homepage and it did the same thing. Is this settings on my computer or is synthasite having technical difficulties?

Hello Donald,
I was able to reach your site just now. Earlier today we had a technical issue that caused some sites to be down for a short time. This may have been when you were looking. We apologize for the inconvenience, everything is up and running now! If we can assist you further please let us know.

I just now tried my site and it pulled up a Comcast.net page (I use to be a comcast customer until recently it was disconnected), do you suppose there could be some type of setting on my computer that can change this, I have been trying to pull up my site all day and it won't let me. I am not 100% familiar with internet properties but was told i could be my DHCP settings. Do you know how to change these settings?

well... my main problem was answered, that others can view my site (concerned I might lose customers if my site's not visable to them) but I am a little frustrated that I cannot view my own site. Is there a way to view my site through my site manager WITHOUT it accessing the actual web?

Hi Donald,
You should be able to view your website from you computer. Would you try clearing your cache:
1. Click on Tools
2. Clear Private Data
3. Make sure cache is checked then click Clear Private Data Now

Please let me know if this makes any difference.

Thanks!
Emmy

AWESOME!!! you led me to a great discovery... Instead of your idea I tried disk cleanup and deleted everything (10.6 GB by the way) and it worked.

Glad to hear you're seeing your website! Here's how you can clear the cache using Windows Vista:

Using the control panel:

1. Click on Start
2. Select Control Panel
3. Select Network and Internet
4. Select Internet Options
5. Select Delete Browsing Internet and Cookies (which takes you into Tools and Internet Options - same as above steps)
6. Select Internet Options (at the bottom)
7. Look at the second icon Browsing History and select Delete. Here you can delete your temporary internet files, cookies, history, forms and/or passwords

Hi jocelynni,

- Have you published your site yet ???
- Can you make sure that you havn't mistyped your URL.

Try the Synthasite URL first .
It should look something like this

http:// yoursite.synthasite.com/

Hello Jocelynni,

What you're describing is a web-counter or hit counter. There are many freebies on the web such as:
BestFreeHitCounters.com
RightStats.com
TotallyFreeCounter.com

These three sites are among some of the easiest to use. They don't require your email address simply your web-site address. You select the counter style you like, copy the code, drop an HTML widget in your site and paste the code in.
That's it. It will start counting your visitors immediately.
Good luck

Hi jocelynni,

There are invisible counters available also. Try the first URL. I think its on the top of the list.

If you wnat more sophisticated information then try Google Analytics or getclicky.com. These last two are used for marketing and sales. They're very powerful but you have to log into the systems to see any information.

I'm sure there are many others around as well.

Here's one I use.... I think it's pretty good.
You can also select whether you want your counter to be visible or not.
