I am SO frustrated and have lost an entire day's work by not being able to launch the widget box. Can someone please tell me how to do that? It shows up for a brief moment when I first go into "edit site" then it immediately disappears and so I cannot make the changes I need to make live today on the website. I made changes yesterday, then published the page then went back in to add an artist to the page and I cannot b/c I can't place a widget there to do so b/c the widget box is GONE. It will not load. What do I do? Anyone have this problem? It is very very frustrating. There really is no tab or anything whatsoever I've found to launch the widget box. Isn't it supposed to launch on its own? thanks. help! 8-> frustrated!

I'm seeing the same thing Margi. I now understand I hope.

Dragging the widgetbox icon onto your page is OK and even going into the galleries of products is working fine. It's as you say, when you select any individual product that it states that it is saving the data then just disappears. Repeating the process does exactly that just repeats the issue.

In the meantime and to get you up and running, I would try the direct approach to Widget Box themselves in the interim

Select your widget, configure it on-line to your specification or preference copy the HTML code offered and then go back into your Yola site and drag an HTML widget onto your page and paste the code you obtained.. You should be ready to go.

What's wrong? At this stage I don't know but I'm sure one of the Yola people will see this thread and investigate it if it hasn't corrected

thank you so much, the problem is that there is no widget box to select anything from. when I go into "edit site", it loads the whole site and of course you only see the first front page load, and I can see the widget box appear for a second to the right of the page, where it is SUPPOSED TO BE, but then seconds later, the widget box just disappears and I so there is no box to choose any widget FROM! SIMPLY no box whatsoever to choose any widgets from. The box used to be to the right of the site, and so I could choose a widget then slide it over but as of yesterday after I published the changes I made, the next time I loaded the site to make more changes, there IS NO WIDGET BOX to make any changes. My hands are tied! I can't believe it....there is nothing I can do to the website at this moment and that is not a good thing!

OK. So you are saying that all widgets are inaccessible. The Basic, the Multimedia, the Social , Widget Collections etc?

If that's the case then slowly inspect the RIGHT hand margin of your Yola builder screen. You should see a white single headed arrow (or left hand pointing angle bracket) about half way down and colour white.

If you click on that it should open all the widget options. This is a toggle switch and the effect lasts until the next time you click it.

I hope this solves your problem Margi Art.

Ahhhhh, you are CORRECT! AWESOME, it seems like it was such a simple solution! I knew it was either a very simple issue or a complex one where maybe my code was conflicting with their template. But your tip worked and I did find it and had no idea that was a drop down box. I really love this yola site and templates too, I just think for the most part in general (not just yola) they bury so many things like this and expect us to just stumble upon them. Seems a simple button that says "load widgets" should be plain and out in the open. Nevertheless, you helped me so much. Why couldn't we have met yesterday!? hehe. thanks so much I appreciate it and have a GREAT day! :)

Yes. I agree with your suggestion of making it more obvious. In fact it is one of the very few elements where they have failed in design it goes into the "mixed-meat" category something that a few commentators suggest comes back to haunt you :)

Hello Margi and Gop,

I'm glad that you guys were able to figure out the solution to this. Margi, I have just sent you an email with the same instructions as Gop has given you. Thanks for the feedback for this. We'll take this into consideration as we continue to make improvements.
