Widget Idea

I was thinking of a good widget. A multi-webpage changer.
You can add the widget to any page, and if one of the widgets gets changed, they all get changed with it.
It would make it easier to display news on the top of every page.
And it would be easier to change footers on the bottom of every page.

We all know it sucks when you have a bunch of webpages with something that you need to change for every one.
Copy and Paste. Over and Over.

So if you didnt understand what i meant, let me explain it.

You have 20 pages.
At the top of every page you have a bar that displays important news that may be more important then placing in the blog
You need to change this bar everyweek with new updates.
20 changes is time consuming
Special widget that allows you to change anyone of them, and it changes them all.

If implemented future changes to the widget:
1. Adding widgets into the special widget
- Makes it easier to add stuff multiple times, like a facebook like button on everypage, etc
2. Mutliple of these "special widgets"
- You could have multiple, so one specially for footers and another one for the top page

If you like please comment. Also share what you think
Share possible features as well

That's a great idea James, and one we've already begun implementing - currently the Business Location widget does exactly what you describe - if you update it on one page, it will sync across all.

We hope to get a similar feature out for footers (as you mention) sometime this year, and I will absolutely add to the list to do a plain ole' text box that can sync. No promises on if/when it'll happen, but it is a great idea I don't want to lose track of.

Thanks!!

That awesome!
But sorry for misunderstanding the first part. Is that widget already out, or in the works still?

The business location widget has been out for a few months now (6 or so?). You'll find it in the Maps category of the widget panel.

Thanks!

Hi xin Ping,

You can use AuthPro to add a log in/registration feature to your site. I have successfully put this on my website, and it is working good. You can login/register here on my site: http://my.nathansmusicstudio.cz.cc/ to see how it works and how it looks.

With AuthPro you can:

- Display user's name on any page with protection code on it (e.g. "Welcome, Nathan")

- Automatically register new members

- Automatically find lost passwords

- Automatically cancel membership

- Members can view/edit their profiles

- Protect your member's pages from being bookmarked and accessed without using your login page

- HTML source code encoder tool

- View, add, delete, modify your member's information

- Up to 10 members per free account and on Deluxe you get unlimited users

- Different URL's for different members (if you want to set different URL's for different members)

- Customizable login form

- Customizable registration form with any number of additional fields

- Customizable edit profile form for members to update their information

- Customizable email confirmation of registration

- Email notification of new member registration

- Auto or manual member registration

- Free and paid membership registration support

- Payment gateway integration

- New members can be suspended until approved

- Set member account expiration (by time or number of logins)

- Email address verification

- Automatically sent verification/approval email

- Members login stats

And more.

Authpro is a good way to go for right now until Yola gets membership.

Yola doesn't currently have this feature, but they do have it under consideration.

If you need nay help with implementing AuthPro into your site let me know, I am very experienced with AuthPro, so let me know if you need help.

To sign up for AuthPro go to www.AuthPro.com and click on "Create Account"

I hope this helps you out!

Hi, xin Ping,

Nathan is correct that we do not currently have a membership feature. He has offered a good alternative. Please let us know if you have further questions.

Thanks, Nathan!
