Widget shifting places on its own

Hello everyone,

There are some widgets on my websites that move around every now and then. I've checked the forum and I've seen that this has happened in the past.

I have one kind of widget in particular that is driving me crazy: it's the one with the copyright information which should be in the bottom, but keeps going up on some pages.

If you have a look here you'll find a list of topics. Please, click on any of them and you you'll see that the copyright footer is not at the end of the page.

They are not the only pages where it happens. I've been fixing it for some time, but I'd like to know if there's any solution.

Maybe there's something wrong with the html? If you think it is, please let me know what are the tags I have to add for you to see the code (I always forget which ones they are).

Kind regards,
Jose

Hello Jose,

Your copyright panel is a custom widget? Placed as the last entry in the content?

If there is a change in the size of the content above this it will move relatively on the page but should keep it's position as last entry. The only way to keep it anchored is to configure it in the footer over-rides but of course that will bring it out of the container or to use CSS with the HTML tag "position" of which there are three options. This requires basic coding and may be difficult with the custom panels but do-able I think with careful coding(?). Other than that I don't know of a solution.

If I've got this wrong in my understanding please let me know.

The very last widget I have on every page is an html one with Google Analytics tracking code. On top of that, always comes a text widget with the Copyright information.

Is there a clear reason why widgets move, to understand how to avoid it or to know on which pages I should keep an eye to correct undesired shifting?

Your GA should be placed in the specific Yola facility for this. There's a Yola tutorial describing the process.

I think I have mentioned my understanding of why there may be movement. If there is something else happening then it suggests third party widgets that may be causing issues(?)
