How did you get your 55 page book so cheap? $7.97?

My 38 page book has to be sold for a minimum of $15.80. Is your book black and white inside and is this the reason?

well... under the circumstances of my book, it had to be in color. I probably won't ever sell any printed copies, but I might be able to sell the downloads as I can pretty much go as low as I want with that.

My next book (in progress) is a much different book - teaching the martial arts (tae kwon do more specifically) and this book will be in black and white. I'm thinking about selling it for $24.99 or $24.95 just to get some sales, after its out there I'll raise it to $32.99 which is about how much it will be worth since it has all information on Tae Kwon Do currently available including 3,400 different techniques and how to perform each one. Thankfully a lot of the techniques are derived from others. So in order explaining all over again, I was able to - refer to the above technique or this technique this page, just modify this blah blah... etc. After I throw images in there, the finished book I'm looking at about 450 pages. That gives me a royalty of $13 to $20 per book (because its worth it based on the depth of valuable information) and hopefully will get me on the board as an author.

thats brilliant mate, its a good feeling publishing your own book, my first book was done by a professional publisher, then i was directed to lulu and now do them all myself, yeah I think a book like that should sell, good luck with that..

yea, I wish I could get a professional publisher. Lulu actually has packages but I'm not too sure of the details. I know with a professional publisher, they will edit your book and suggest changes (generally grammar and spelling but sometimes incorrect information if they are experienced in the topic), they will design the cover themselves if you wish for that option, I had to chose and design mine through lulu. They will print out a number of books and distribute them to stores and send you like ten free copies, they will promote your book which comes with an ISBN (not sure if mine does through lulu or not)... but the cheapest I found... $2200 in advance then for the first 100 sales, royalties is cut down to 40% of the normal royaty. OUTRAGEOUS

you know, I've never even seen my children's book printed? LOL - I would like to get one for my children but I'm not thinking about it when I have the money. It's cheaper for us to purchase our own book because we only have to pay the manufacturing costs I believe. It's like $13 for me.

lol, no I'm actually 27 years old with two children. I'm not close to being retired. But I am unemployed WITH TWO CHILDREN so $13 is like gold to me. I had to have someone purchase my dot com for me because I wanted one and couldn't afford one.

I did serve 4 years in the Army and I have intentions of returning for 16 more years so that I can retire from the military and still be young.

yea, I'm going to try to get a job in the army less likely to go off to war... it's best for my children (ages 1 and 3) and fiance (children's mother) that I don't go to war. Although there's that possibility, odds can be decreased with a good MOS selection.

I'm adding sources (where each individual sentence or section came from) to my website and I think I can now declare myself a genius.

Check this out!!!

http://sitebuilder.yola.com/sites/D7d...

On this page, click "Law" in the table of contents as that's where my first source is, click the superscript "[4]" or any number like that and tell me what you think about my sources. :) I'd appreciate the feedback.

that is my analytics. It's how I track traffic. Whatever people on getsatisfaction tells you, it's better than google analytics.

  1. It's real-time (you know the moment someone's currently on your site)
  2. Google you have to wait til the following day for traffic results - not with getclicky
  3. It's user friendly is much better - with google it's hard to find anything you need.
  4. It's in plain english
  5. It shows the user's IP address
  6. It registers unique users
  7. It's not inaccurate like google analytics (google kept telling me I had 100 to 400 visitors a day [50 to 300 unique]) and I know that was a lie. I get 5 to 30 visitors a day (like getclicky tells me)
  8. Getclicky allows you to name your visitors (if you know who's IP address it belongs to then you can name it "my friend #1" for example - although, I've never used this feature so I'm not sure if it's available with the free version.
  9. They allow you to buy a pro version with many more features. Check it out, if you do though, click on my getclicky badge and sign up through there. If at anytime in the future you purchase pro, I get paid or some kind of credits I think. It records how many people signed up and how many people purchased pro that I referred.
