Windows Live MX Configuration Problem

Domain: studentcatalyst.ca
Email: sisun1030@gmail.com (recently under admins@studentcatalyst.ca)

I have been using Google Apps to create @studentcatalyst.ca email alias. Because the limit of the number of emails you can create is only 10, I followed the Yola tutorial to create Windows Live account as it allows me to create up to 300 @studentcatalyst.ca email alias.

In Windows Live, I got to the Domain Setting page and it reads: "You need to prove ownership of this domain by creating a DNS record. Use the settings below.". I then went to my Yola account --> Advanced Settings -> Set up Email for your domain -> Configure email yourself and copied and pasted the MX record from Windows Live and was successful.

However, back in my Windows Live settings page, it still reads "You need to prove ownership of this domain by creating a DNS record. Use the settings below." despite refreshing the page multiple times. I added MX yesterday and it has been over 9 hours.

My organization (StudentCatalyst) is launching to public tomorrow morning (our school - University of Waterloo) after careful marketing plannings. We cannot do so without our emails set up. I have deleted all accounts in the original Google Apps so I can create new/more ones through Windows Live. At the moment, the entire team is stuck without email alias. I cannot recreate temporary ones through Google Apps because once you delete an alias you can't recreate the same ones for 5 days.

Please help me get Windows Live configuration fixed ASAP.

Hello Sisun,

As you have signed up through our GCBO (Get Canadian Business Online), the TOS says you need to use Google Apps for your email service. It is not possible to set this up with Windows Live. I'm sorry.

Please let us know if you have any trouble with this.

I have spoken with Josephine and Lindsay today from Yola over the phone.

I have been told multiple times that despite signing up through GCBO, I will be allowed to get Windows Live. I am just not qualified with Yola Mail.

In fact, I have been told that a specialist will contact me within 48 hours.

Whatever the case is, please clear this up and give me the final answer. If Windows Live is not available, and Yola Mail are also not available, I would need to find new alternatives. Google Apps is only limited to 10 email alias.

You and other Yola employees are now telling me different answers. Please clear this up and get back to me.

I am sorry that you were given different answers. I am afraid to have to confirm Sanja above and to let you know that Windows Live is not available for GCBO users.

As GCBO is a programme powered by Google, you can only use Google Apps for your e-mail service.

We are sorry that we cannot offer you more than 10 e-mail aliases if a higher amount of e-mail addresses is required to meet your needs.
