Hello Daniel,
I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem. Could you do the following for me, please?

* Check to see if you are having problems with your network or internet service provider.
* Check your privacy settings. You must accept cookies from SynthaSite. Please click on this link to find instructions for accepting cookies with your browser: http://www.google.com/cookies.html.
* Try loading the site in a different browser (eg. Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer). We would recommend using Firefox as it can help with many problems. It is a free download if you would like to give it a try: Download Firefox.
* Try loading the site on a different computer or network if possible.

If none of these suggestions solves your problem, please let me know.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hi Daniel,

One last thing you can try is clearing your browser's cache (here's info on how to do that: http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Bro....

Do you know what you added to the page before this started happening? If there's not a lot of content, you can delete the page and start again. Please make sure that you don't add any invalid HTML (this would stop the page from loading) or copy and paste directly from a Word Doc (the hidden formatting copied across can also stop the page from loading, it's best to paste into Notepad first).

Here are some steps:
1) Create a new page and rebuild the page from the beginning, being careful to copy and paste all HTML correctly. If for any reason you encounter problems with the page not loading you should immediately exit without saving to prevent the problem becoming permanent.

2) If you are satisfied that the new page is functioning properly, click the drop down arrow next to the "save" button and select "save page as." Save the page with the same name as problem page. It will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing page. Say "yes".

3) You will now have a copy of the page in your site manager. I suggest you keep the copy as a backup, but remove it from your main menu so that the duplicate will not appear on your site. Click on the "Edit menu" button and drag the duplicate page "out of the menu." That way if you ever run into difficulty again, you will have a working copy of your index page.

I am sorry that this involves extra work on your part, but this is the quickest solution I can offer you since your page will not load in the editor.

Hi I am also having this problem but with a slight variation, and I've tried your first suggestions (except try to open in a new browser because my work won't let me use anything but Internet Explorer.

My main page is a blog and I want to add a text box to the side. Everything else works fine (updating the blog, updating existing compontants, etc), but as soon as I try to add a new compontant IN BETWEEN EXSISTING COMPONTANTS (html and text are the ones I've tried) the page seems to freeze and just tells me "loading compontant". It’ll unfreezes when you hit the refresh page button but the compontant is not loaded. I can add a text box or HTML box to the bottom of the page, however it won’t let me move it up to the spot I want (it just doesn’t go).

I don't want to delete and redo my page because it's a blog page on my index page and I already know that you guys can't transfer old blog posts.

So... any ideas????

Hello,
I would suggest trying to use the Firefox browser, it is a free download. Here is a link: Download Firefox. This browser seems to work very well in the Synthasite environment. Let us know if this doesn't help the problem you are having.

Regards,
Emmy

Hi Emmy,

Thanks but as I mentioned in the post above I can't download any new browers to my work computer. They only allow Internet Explorer.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Sure, sorry about that. It sounds like Internet Explorer is freezing up on you. Did you try logging out of the site builder, closing your browser and then trying again.

Hello Tina,

I've had a similar experience with not being able to insert a new place holder between two existing.

I added a number of divided place holders to the bottom of the page. I then started to drag and drop the components starting from the bottom to the last divided place holder, followed by the the next and so on until and including the component that was one below the insertion point I was wanting. Then place your new component above this one.

I used the divided place holder because this was the easiest to manipulate and use as a general place holder. I didn't worry about removing the divided place holders after finishing as it hasn't disturbed anything functional or position wise.

This may be a solution for your problem. The only other suggestion I can think of is replacing your employer?? :)

Alright. So I found a sneaky backdoor way of downloading unauthorized software to my computer at work (please don't tell my boss).

Anyway, downloading Firefox fixed the problem. Thanks everyone.
