Wordpress blog to Tumblr on Yola

Has anyone ever moved their Wordpress blog onto Yola, using the Tumblr widget?

I had a Yola blog years ago, which was ditched by Yola, and so had to look for an alternative place to host it.  I settled for Wordpress.

I've just been told by Hubspot that although I'm doing a good job with social media, Google is crediting my Wordpress site for all my work and not my Yola site.  Which was what I intended, creating a lot of content around keywords etc.

I was told I should look to have my blog actually on my site and have a subdomain in order for Google to credit my site.

I see we can't have a Wordpress blog on Yola, but we can have Tumblr.  Does anyone have experience in moving a blog across from one host to another, hopefully keeping all the content that has been written over the years?

Hope this makes sense and hope to hear from someone soon.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Will

I'm afraid you'll most probably not be able to move your existing WordPress blog with all past content to a Tumblr blog. However, this is a question that Wordpress Support should be able to answer better than me. If it's not possible, you'll need to start your Tumblr blog from scratch.

Before you take any action, I'd honestly recommend that you first check what kind of a website you mainly want to run. If a blog is the central part of your website, you'll be better off with a WordPress website, because that's what they specialize in. If a blog is just an addition to your web presence and you'd like to run a fully functional website with the usual content of a small/medium business plus possibly an Online Store, etc., then the best choice would be Yola and adding your Tumblr blog to your Yola website as an ideal way to contribute to improving your site's SEO.

There are lot more steps you can take to improve your overall SEO performance in order to make Google as aware of your website as they seem to be now for your WordPress blog. Our best product to help you with this is Yola Gold.
