Hi Alicia

I love the look of your site. It looks so simple but professional. It's obvious that you put a lot of work into it.

There are a couple of things that I would add but your site is fine without it:

1. On your Advertising page... there's a lot of text! I would put in a bit of "white space" between your advertising application and your advertising info on the right hand side. You could accomplish this by inserting a two column widget into your pane. Then drag your text widget into the far right column of the two column widget. You can drag the middle bar closer to the left hand side to give you more room. I hope I make sense!

2. I would do a favicon! You can do this by going into your Properties, scroll down and you'll see "favorite icon". Pick a small image from your file manager or computer. Then, hit "update your site" to see it in your address bar. You have little tiny butterflies on your header - maybe you could use the butterfly icon as your favicon?

3. As I didn't apply, I have no idea what happens - so this comment may be irrelevant. After you hit the submit button, does it take you away from your site to the Wufoo's site? I have been a previous user of Wufoo and this occurred to me. I don't know if it makes a difference if you're a paying customer or not. I prefer being able to keep my clients on my site. If you want to explore other options - you could go to www.jotform.com They offer you a thank-you redirect to your own url on your site for free.

You really have done a lovely job! As I mentioned above, the comments I made are negligible.

I wish you every success!

Hello Alicia,
Looks like your site will be very useful for moms out there looking to work from home! You've obviously put a lot of thought and time into it. I really like the name.

I think adding some images in various places would be a nice addition.

Very cool...I may even advertise once you get going....I have a home decor site and about 80% of my customers are women. You might do well as many of us with newer sites have to find ways to better target our very few advertising dollars.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and great support!

Littleus:

I agree with the text on the advertising page, I was thinking about just having a seperate page to put the form on, and have a link at the bottom of the advertising page that links to it to break it up more.

I actually did a favicon! It's only on a couple pages as of right now, it's a dollar sign, considering everything to do with the website is to help women find other means of creating income for themselves, but I will try to find a butterfly favicon and see how that goes!

Well, I changed that part today, it used to be so when you clicked the Apply Now button, it would direct you to a form specialized for becoming a member, but I decided that I should keep the website free and focus on other ways to monetize the website. So now it's free and has a public Control Panel where all the resources will be, including live chat where moms can discuss various endeavors, successes, failures, etc.

Emmy:

Thank you! I have always wanted to help other moms, so this is the best way I can do it right now! I am looking for images to place on my website, I just haven't found the right ones yet...I may need to create some on my own...and that will take time, but who knows! :)

John:

Thank you John! I would love to check out your website! Also, if you would like, I am part of a social network for moms from all over the world, but mostly Canada and the US...I could even put your website in my signature so it will be displayed to all those women. I post frequently in the forums and am a member of sevral groups :)

We should keep in touch then! If there is a way to private message me, you should, and I will give you my contact email for if you ever would like to advertise with us! I'll give you a special discount ;)

Wow, these comments brightened my day so much! Thanks all of you!

Great I will get back to you soon...I also have a background in manufacturing as a purchasing manager and will keep my eye out for real companies that offer real worthwhile drop shipping for people with sites....You are right many are scams but I have done business with many other manufacturers over the years...I know real from scam.

Thank you, that means a lot since I have been planning to do a section about drop shipping and wholesales. I often find there are too many "middle men" who like to pretend they are wholesalers, confusing the buyer and charging more for wholesale products.

Well, let them know they will have a valuable link and review on my site if you happen to stumble upon any good ones!

By the way, you sell BEAUTIFUL furniture. I bookmarked your website for future reference :)

Have a good night,

Hi Alicia

You've been a busy bee! Your site has already had some positive changes! I think the layout you have now is much better. I really like the little scrolly thing (where did you get them?)

If I may be so bold to suggest something here?

I don't really like the name "control panel" as to me it conveys that I can change your site or have administrative control. It does not seem to reflect the content you have in this section. Maybe you could call it "Getting Started" or "Info Panel"?

If you feel that "control panel" is the way to go, by all means - please do keep it! This is your site, your baby! =)

hello - i noticed all your window titles are the same on each page - search engines like a different window title and for it to be more than 3 words -- (not to be confused with your page heading which you have all the same but this is not as important.)

Duke is right and titles are the very first thing bots see....go with themes that relate to your page....Rule of thumb for page titles from what I have read is...Company name and a little about the page..max 70 characters ...Page description...a bit more detail max 90 characters...Also don't go crazy on keywords or you end up looking like a spam site....I have read different opinions on how many is about right...some say 10 max some say 20 max.

Good morning everyone!

Littleus:

The little scrolly thing? haha I have no clue what you are talking about, however, if you're talking about the images on the home page, I found them on photobucket!

THANK YOU for the suggestion of Info Panel. To be honest, when I redid the page and chose not to have it as a membership website, I really couldn't think of a title. I took your wonderful suggestion and changed it to "Info Panel" lol Considering I want the tabs to remain on one solid line, Getting Started didn't seem right because everything is there haha!

The Duke:

When I first read your reply, I got it confused with the header lol How do I go about changing the window title? Thank you for the great info! Wait, would I just switch to edit HTML mode and change the window titles in the title tags? I think I will go and try that at some point today.

John:

Nice to hear from you again! I'll also take your advice with the description limits and window titles. Usually my rule of thumb for keywords is to keep it at 5 keywords that aren't too broad. I like to use the Google tool that let's analyse keywords (forget what it is called) and I usually take a couple that have a high profitability from there, adding in one single word, 2 keywords with 2 words in them, and then another 2 keywords with 3 words in them.

Thank everyone for the continuing support :)

Hey Alicia,

Yep.. I was talking about the images on your homepage! =) I never knew that Photobucket has a bunch of images that you could use! Very cool feature! I checked it out - but how did you get rid of that black background that appears with the image?

Well first I used the search feature at the top right hand of the page and typed in "divider" because I really needed something to seperate some of the text. These images didn't come with a black background, they already had a transparent background...however if you really want the images with a black background, and if just the background is black, you could always download a program called GIFFY, and use that to make the image with a transparent background. It's a very easy tool to use.

Thanks so much Alicia. I'll check out that GIFFY tool. I found that image you used, but it came with a black background. Weird. Anyway... maybe there's more than one out there.

No problem! I believe there is more than one, but if you like you can just use the one on my website instead of having to go through to find it, if you plan on using the same image that is! Photobucket is a great free tool for finding loads of images for websites, and it's pretty much all stock photos, so you don't have to worry about copyright unless there is an embedded name/website/logo etc. on the picture.

hi Alicia,

You can change your Window Title simply by going to your Content Sidebar and selecting Properties. The Window Title is the first entry. No need to go into HTML in fact that may be a dangerous action as it may break your page if you put in incomplete code.

Awesome thank you very much Peter, I used to code by hand in notebook, so I don't think I would screw it up too badly! Haha.

Anyways, just wanted to let all of you know we now...have a forum! I'm super excited! I still have to do some tweaking on it, but it looks good so far!

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Hi Alicia, your forum looks great, i use nabble, but you have really made it look great by adding well thought out topics.

2 things - did you understand what peter said about how to add window titles? because i see they are still the same - its very easy to do, its a built in yola feature?

+ Remember to add your fav icon to all pages.

Also the intro text on your home page ---
Some people hear 'internet business' or 'get rich at home' and intsantly dont want to know anymore about it, you have a unique approach to this so maybe try to sell that fact more, put distance between you and all the generic get rich internet schemes.

I wish you all the look in the world - Lee.

PS Now the site is looking great its time to make sure people find it - there is a great tutorial here somewhere about getting your site noticed by search engines - Peter will know the URL to the tutorial - maybe ask Peter for the URL next time you see him.

Hey TheDuke

Hehe I accidentally type TheDike by accident...I chuckled a little...

Thanks for the feedback on the forum! I think it blends well too luckily with one of their themes.

Yes, I did understand what Peter said about the window titles, I am slowly working on it. I had to change the name of the website because of a registered trademark already on Mompreneurs...so as I have been changing all the pages over, I have been filling out all that information as well.

I plan on doing that more, however I have a long enough to-do list as it is now that I have to change the name etc. So when I get these pages finished updating, I will be adding more content, much more content to the Info Panel, and today I added adsense to a few pages around the site, just learning the ropes.

I also installed Google Analytics, so I am starting out learning that too. I am a mom myself, and am in school full time, so I am even surprised I have gotten this far with the website in 3 days as I have...lol

Thank you for the great suggestions once again! I look forward to hearing from you again in the near future.
