Wrap text around images within blog entries?

I have a new suggestion. I know, I know... It's been a while lol
Anyway, here goes - On numerous occasions where I've been inserting pictures into my blog, I have found that I miss the option to properly format/edit the picture and how it is viewed within the blog entry. I would like to be able to wrap the text around the photo, making it look more professional. I for one, would greatly appreciate this function.

Hi Patrik,

Ok, so this is possible, but will take creating a table in the blog post. Here is how you would do it once you are in the body of the post:

1. Insert picture using the Insert Picture icon on the Edit Toolbar
2. Click on the html icon which will put you in html edit mode
3. Than you can use this table code to get started (remove the < !-- and -- >):

<!--<table><tr><td><img src="resources/Green_Sea_Turtle_large.jpg"></td><td>Look at the sea turtle, isn't he cute. </td></tr></table>-->

Your image will be in place of where "resources/Green_Sea_Turtle_large.jpg" is and then you can put your text in place of where "Look at the sea turtle, isn't he cute." is.

Here's what it looks like in site builder:

Here's what the post looks like:

This might not be exactly what you had in mind, but hopefully it will work.

Kind Regards,
Emmy

Hi Patrik,

Thanks for this suggestion. We recently released similar functionality for the Text Widget. Next we'll implement this for the Blog Post Editor.

Hi knapperture,
To wrap text around an image in the blog editor, it will take creating a table in the blog post. Here is how you would do it once you are in the body of the post:

1. Insert your picture using the Insert Picture icon on the Edit Toolbar.
2. Click on the "HTML" icon which will put you in HTML edit mode.
3. Than you can use this table code to get started:

<!--table><tr><td><img src="resources/image-name.jpg"></td><td>This is the text that I want to go next to my image called image-name.jpg</td></tr></table-->

Put your image name (the image needs to be in the File Manager) in the area above that says "image-name.jpg", and then you can put your text in place of "This is the text that I want to go next to my image called image-name.jpg".

This is a functionality we hope to add in the future, for the time being I hope you will be able to use this option.

Patrik,
Do you have an estimated time that you will have this feature ready?

Hi Tdejcmmmmm - unfortunately we're not able to give you a date when this will be available. We're working on other features at the moment and we intend to work on the blog features in the future. I can't give you an estimate of when it will be available however.

Hello all, just my 2 cents on this. The table option works fine, and here's another one that might be a bit easier to implement. Same as Emmy suggested,

1. Make sure you are in the body of the post
2. Click on the html icon which will put you in html edit mode
3. Use this code (remove the < !-- and -- >):

<!--
<img class="yui-img" img="" title="insert title of your image" src="insert URL of your image" align="left">
-->

Substitute the text to include the title and URL of your image. You can also decide on the alignment of the image (e.g. align="right"). Leave the img class="yui-img" attribute as is, and the img="" one as well.

You can see examples of how this works at the Cosmic Sensorium Blog. Look at the second image on the post I'm linking you to. I use this layout for most of my posts so feel free to look around!

Cheers!
