I need a free, simple solution to display a roster, or a list of people as well as details that list parts of my organization they are in charge of or associated with. If there are any ideas, spill 'em here. Thanks!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your email. There are a few different ways to add a roster to your website and I am confident that more members of our community will have different suggestions as well.

One way you can do this is by embedding a chart in your page by using a Google Docs spreadsheet. It's very easy and effective:

  1. Create or upload your spreadsheet to Google Docs and create the chart. Remember to create it in a new worksheet so that the chart is on its own page.

  2. Publish the spreadsheet in Google Docs, you should get a toolbar opening on the right-hand side of your page, click on '"Publish" and then 'More publishing options'.

  3. A dialog box will open, change the File Format to "HTML to embed in webpage", choose the rest of the options you want, (remember to choose the right worksheet) and generate URL.

  4. Copy the HTML code provided.

  5. Go back to your Yola site. Drag and drop an HTML Widget onto the page, paste the code into the HTML editor and press "OK".

If the size isn't to your liking,  please go back to your HTML Widget, click on "Edit"on the top left corner of the widget, and adjust the width and height settings in the HTML.

You can also add a chart using a Google Gadget (click on the Widgets folder on the right-hand sidebar to get access to the widget) and browse Google Gadget's site by searching for 'chart'. Customize the widget to your liking, copy the code provided and paste it back in the dialog box on your Yola site.

I hope you find this suggestion helpful.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely try it out. By the way... Why did you say 'thanks for your email'? Is it the forum service sending Yola Reps automatic emails when a new question is asked?

To all other people: Keep rolling in the suggestions! I want to be able to evaluate and test other possible solutions.
