I'm not having an issue updating or publishing but my website simply won't load either in Firefox or IE and when it does not all the ages work and if I refresh they sometimes work or one that does, when refreshed will not load and says service unavailable. What's that all about?

Hey Payl - sorry we didn't get back to you sooner. Now it's 4 hours later - is publishing still taking so long? You can also try logging out, restarting your browser and trying again. Make sure your internet connection is in good order too. If it's still taking forever to publish your site, please could you post your URL?

Uhm, did you read the link I asked you to? It explains what we are doing about publishing sites with Yola. We are working hard to improve Yola for all our customers. However, if you still wish to change hosts when you get back from work and check things out we will certainly understand. Using IE6 with Yola is never going to be a great experience, so if you are committed to this browser and browser version, my advice to you would be to seek out a site builder and hosting service that is optimized for IE6.

Hi Paul

Perhaps your IE6 could be updated to IE7? This may help your site building experience to improve.

One more suggestion Paul... your music list is quite long and this may be one of the reasons why that particular page takes so long to load up. Perhaps if you broke it up in subpages this will help lessen the time it takes to load up. For example, you could have a main music list which contains your table of contents: Numbers, A-B, C-D, E-F, etc.... Then, each of those links would connect to a sub-page which contain the music playlist. Here's a really great tutorial on how to create sub-pages: http://www.yola.com/customer-support/...

@ Paul Moods,

Seeing as you have a work to go to, may I assume that you are an adult.
One would never have guessed by your tone here on the forum.

I would suggest being a little more polite and patient and you will see how Yola and it's representatives will bend over backwards to help you. I doubt whether you would get the same helpfull response from any other host that you may wish to try. You may like to do some searching on the following topic as well:
"Why the customer is always right is wrong"
Use Internet Explorer if you prefer !

Hey Paul...... big of you to apologise.

I was just rushing to the rep's aid who do such a great job here and sometimes take a lot of flack for problems out of their control. I have my own business for the last 12 years and deal with dozens of customers every day and there is no way you can keep everyone happy all the time so I feel their pain.

No hard feelings... Ok ?
Your site is looking great btw.

Hi Paul

It does appear that there is a bug with updating sites in IE6. This bug seems to have been introduced yesterday, and we are still working on a fix.

If you have access to any other browser or browser version that you can use for the time being, you will be able to update your site.

If you only have IE6 I am going to have to ask you to wait until the bug is fixed.

Hey Paul

Just to let you know, I would not recommend using Google Chrome for your site building as there has been reported bugs with this type of browser. I would stick with IE7 for now until those bugs have been resolved.

Yes...I believe Chrome has been taken off the Yola suported browser list.
It still has that growing text box problem.

Hey Paul, why not give FF another go. It is by far the best site building experience.
I understand you don't like it, but just use it for your site building....

Hello Kendall,
Did you update your site after you saved it? Saving your site saves a draft of the site in your account. Updating your site applies your changes to your live site. This allows you to work on your site and only put it live when you are ready. However, updating the live site is a step people often miss.

When you publish your site the "Publish Site" button will turn into an "Update Site" button. Whenever you make changes you can click the "Update Site" button which will apply the changes to the published site.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

Hello Fadzli

Unfortunately, if you're using Internet Explorer 6 as your browser, you will experience problems publishing or updating your site. This is quite an older browser.

Chrome is not currently one of our supported browsers. We hope to add support for Chrome in future. You could also try updating Chrome to the latest version as some users report that they are able to publish successfully from the latest version.

If that doesn't work, could you try to update your site from Firefox (recommended), Internet Explorer 7 or 8 or Safari?

If you still have trouble with publishing, then please try the following:
1. Logout of Yola, restart your browser and login again.
2. Check to see if you are having problems with your network or internet service provider.
3. Clear your browser's cache. This link has more information: Clear cache.
4. Check your privacy settings. You must accept cookies from Yola. Please click on this link to find instructions for accepting cookies with your browser: Accept cookies.
5. Check that your browser is set to enable Javascript. This link has more information on how to check: Enable Javascript.

Yes, I actually did update my site after I saved it. But, when I click on the button saying: "change style," and then I click on the style that I would like, my site's background is still blank.

@ Emmy,

Hello, my website is fine now! I figured it out. Thank you so much for your effort and concern. What I did was: used a background that I did not want, went back and clicked on the one I did want, and it worked!

My computer must not have been loading correctly, or maybe I just needed to let it load a background other then the one i wanted.

Thank you anyway,
Kendall

P.S. I will probably be contacting you often because I am not very good at tech/computer work!

Hi, Emmy
Last night, I changed my website from Thanksgiving to Christmas and put many Christmas pictures. I checked my website today and none of my new pictures showed. I tried restarting my computer... didn't work. I republished my site... didn't work. I updated my site... still did not work! I don't know anything else I can do.

Hi Kendall,
I wonder if possibly this is a caching issue. I have taken a look at your site and see various Christmas images on the pages, here is what I see on the home page:

Can you try clearing your browser's cache, here is some more information on how to do this: Clear Browser Cache.

Let me know if this doesn't solve your problem
