I have just looked at the new improved/updated yola. I think it is wonderful!

But... one thing, in the yola files you cannot see the picture you can only see the name. It would be easier to see the picture and the name.

Just saying!

I have the same problem... when I look at my website when I am editing, I see no pictures. All I see is the top of the picture which says: 'Edit' 'Edit with Picnik'

Then when I look at my website not editing, my actual published website, I see all of the pictures.

I cleared my cache multiple times, I still cannot see the pictures.

I do not know why this keeps happening.

Hi Kendall,
I'm sorry you are having this problem. Is this happening on all your pages or just certain pages in particular? Have you tried removing the widget and re-adding it?

Yes, all of my pages are having this problem but only on my Christmas pictures. On my page of all pictures... they are in sight but my new Christmas pictures are not. I have not tried re-adding the widget. I will try right now.

Thanks,
Kendall

I have tried that... with the new update of yola, when I drag the picture widget and my yola files come up, it says either to choose a picture from my files or my computer. It will not let me click any one.

I am starting to think that the new update of yola is interfering with this problem. Ever since the new version of yola I have been having problems.

Hi Kendall,

Please can you check and follow the steps below - will you let us know what browser and version you are using?

The File Manager may be taking some time to load, if you could give it another 30 seconds?

1. What browser and browser version are you using? If you are using Google Chrome, please note that this is not currently a supported browser for Yola, and older versions are particularly problematic. Preferably switch to a different browser (Firefox, IE or Safari), but at the very least make sure you are running the latest version of Chrome.
2. Check what version of Flash you have installed. In order to find out click this link. Please ensure you are using the latest version of Flash.
3. What operating system are you using?
4. If you have access to a different browser, computer or network environment please try to upload a file and let us know if the error still occurs or if you get a different result.
5. Please can you try logging out of your Yola account and clearing your browser's cache (this link has more information: http://www.google.com/support/account.... I know you've already tried this, but I'm still adding it as a step.
6. Please can you make sure that your browser is set to accept cookies from Yola (this link has more information: http://www.google.com/cookies.html)

1. I am using Firefox
2. Are you talking about Adobe Flash Player? I have version 10
3. Windows
4. I will tell you if i have any errors
5. I will try
6. I went to that link and chose Firefox 1 or 2 but I have Firefox 3.5 which they do not have. Firefox 1 or 2 does not have the same as I.

I just spent the last 3 hours writing a very long blogpost and when I hit publish for the post, it just disappeared and I got an error message saying yola is facing some technical problems! Does this mean that there is no way to recover my post from your database?! Does this mean I need to write the whole thing again!? Seriously?!

Hello the.manalyst

Do you still see your blog post inside your site builder? If so, then your work has not been lost. Most likely, the errors that you're running into have to do with publishing your site - not the actual blog post. Can you please see if you still do have the blog post? If so, then please try the following to resolve the publishing issue:

1. Logout of Yola, restart your browser and login again.
2. Try using Yola in a different browser (eg. Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer).
3. Check to see if you are having problems with your network or internet service provider.
4. Clear your browser's cache. This link has more information: Clear cache.
5. Check your privacy settings. You must accept cookies from Yola. Please click on this link to find instructions for accepting cookies with your browser: Accept cookies.
6. Check that your browser is set to enable Javascript. This link has more information on how to check: Enable Javascript.
7. Try loading the site on a different computer or network if possible.

If none of these suggestions solves your problem, please could you let me know what browser you are using (eg. Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3 etc).

I see that your domain is not registered through Yola. You have contradictory A records set up which is causing your problem. There is one for our IP address, 208.75.208.172, which is correct and one for: 78.153.212.173. You should remove any A records for: 78.153.212.173. Your site should then be up and running on your domain. If you have difficulty editing your DNS settings please contact your domain registrar for support. Also get back to us if this suggestion does not solve your problem.

Hello dwpellarin,
I'm sorry you are having this problem. Is this problem with your site in the Site Builder or with your published site and are you able to give us a screen shot of the error message you are seeing. Also, if you can tell us your url that would be helpful.

Thanks,
Emmy

Hi mhjariwala,

Did you just publish your site recently? As soon as your site is published it is live on the internet. However, please note that it takes time for newly published sites to be indexed by the search engines. This can take anywhere from a few days to a few months and unfortunately, it is out of our control. It is premature to expect your site to come up in a web search immediately after you publish it. Until your site is indexed, people will need to access it by clicking on a link to your site that you provide, or by typing your URL directly into the address bar of their browser.

For more information on promoting your newly published site, please see Promoting your website.

You might also want to watch our very informative webcast on this topic: Yola.tv SEO Webinar.

If you still think there is a problem, please reply with the URL to your site so we can take a look.

Your tech support sucks. I've been trying to get help on my site for over a week and no one ever responds to my emails. There is no phone numbers to any real people or anything remotely similar to HELP or CUSTOMER SERVICE. Would someone please respond? info@mekklarmedia.com

Hi Ken,

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time with your site. I searched our support@yola.com database and don't have any correspondence from you at this email address: info@mekklarmedia.com.

While it's true we do not offer phone support at this time, we do offer quick and friendly customer support here and via email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you could reply here and let us know what you're struggling with, we're more than happy to help.

Hi Sue,

In order to assist you I'll need to gather a little more information. Can you explain a bit more about what exactly you are trying to edit in your site when the error occurs please? What browser are you using? Have you tried logging out, clearing your cache and logging back in?

Sorry for all the questions but hopefully your answers will help us solve the problem!

Hallo Laura,
yesterday I renamed the site from Belarren Equine to just Equine as I was going to try and redo the site, but didn't want to loose what I already had.
Today when I logged on, the index page of Equine had only the index but not the photo nor the text and it won't let me do any editing to re-enter the lost info.
The page doesn't fully load either
Have cleaned out cache, logged back in etc. am using Internet Explorer v8
Thanks Sue

Hi Sue

Laura is currently offline at the moment. Thanks for giving us the information. Can you please try a couple more things to see if that will do the trick?

1. Make sure your Flash is updated: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewC...

2. Enable Javascript: http://www.google.com/support/websear...

3. Try in a different browser such as Firefox. This is free to download: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/...

4. Reinstalling IE8.

Please let us know how this goes. Thanks for your patience as we try to work through this.

Hi Sanja,
I ended up deleting the index page and re-doing it, this seems to have worked just fine - no idea what happened.
Next problem is that I have a midi file that I want to use for background music but cannot for the life of me work out how to install it. Can you assist with this please? Tried widgets, but they seem to be beyond me.
Cheers Sue

Hello Sue

I'm glad that you were able to find a way to resolve the issue.

Here's how to embed a midi file into your website.

1. Upload your .mid file to your file manager.
2. Drag and drop an HTML widget.
3. Copy and paste the following code:

<EMBED SRC="resources/yourmidifile.mid" WIDTH=0 HEIGHT=0 AUTOSTART=TRUE VOLUME=50></DD></CENTER>

Replace "yourmidifile.mid" with the name of your midi file. You can also adjust the volume from 0 to 100.

4. Click on "OK".
5. Save your page and then update your site.

Please let me know if you have any trouble with this.

Thank you so much, I've spent a couple of days trying to do that, and you showed me how in seconds.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.
