i bought a domain name from Yola and edited a site. When it was ready to be published I tried to publish to web but it does not recognise the domain name I bought from Yola. It says it's not pointing correctly. However when I checked for that site by putting it into my browser it comes up with the almost unedited version of the site I started with (and never published), Why can't I publish the edited site I have now? Please help me as I need to replace the unedited site with the real one. I bought the domain from Yola precisely to avoid problems with domain names and pointing etc and now I can't publish my site.
Please can you check this out and let me publish my edited version. thanks

Hello Gail

I'm sorry that you're experiencing this problem. You're absolutely right that it should be just easy when you buy a domain with us!

Can you please provide your domain name or your login e-mail for me to find your Yola account in our system and investigate? Thanks.

Thanks but your collleague at Yola has now sorted it for me, A bug in the system it seems. Hadnt intended to post on the forum but the Yola 'contact us ' stuff is a bit confusing so thought I was contacting Yola support rather than the forum. Hopefully it will work properly from now on.

My problem now is finding a calendar I can use for community events as the google one recommended appeared to be fine but now when others access it via the website it simply says 'busy' instead of showing the info I put in.

Hi Gail,

Do you have your Google calendar set to public?

Hi Laura
yes I've set the calendar to public but it is still not showing up the details of events. I've even gone through and set each individual event to public rather than default but still details don't show. There is a box to select to 'only show busy or available" and I checked this was not ticked ( although there don't seem to be any alternative options - just ticked or not ticked for this option). Not sure if there should be other options.
Also do I need to go into google and edit the calendar there and then re-export the html to the web page to add events or does it work to click on the google bar at bottom of calendar to edit while editing the actual webpage in Yola? Just wondered if editing it through Yola may have introduced a problem? It would be annoying to have to exit the webpage each time though.
Are there any other suitable calendars out there I could use instead - I want to make local and community events visible to the public who visit the site.
Thanks
